Embossed RR does not necessarily mean Right Rear.
The inside has an “RR” I would think this means right rear despite buying the Right Front. Needless to say, it does fit the RF and very pleased. Remove as much of the old double sided tape from door pillar before applying new trim.

Fits 2017 year Explorer.
It fit just fine on my 2017 Explorer Platinum model, in the description it states it doesn’t fit on 2017. The piece came ready to install. FYI: Be sure to check the drivers side, mine was loose at the top of the trim. Passenger side blew off on the highway. ALSO Ford now has a “recall” on the front A-pillar trim.
