As a homeschool mom of two, ages 6 and 4, who loves manipulatives these work wonderfully! My daughter(6) was struggling with this concept, but once she could physically see the objects it clicked. 10/10 recommend

I absolutely love this item. It's great for place value lessons. It really helped my daughter understand 3 digit subtraction. I would definitely recommend. The only negative thing is one of the latches to the storage container was broken when it arrived, but it didn't affect the actual product so no complaints.

My child’s kindergarten teacher made a comment that my child was trying to memorize numbers without true understanding. For example, when writing the number fifteen, my child would say, “I can’t remember if I write it 15 or 51.” Children need to understand that for 15, the 1 would be how many tens (one ten block) and the 5 would be how many ones (five one blocks) which would help them know it’s 15 and not 51. Fifty-one would instead be five ten blocks and a single one block. This set really helped with this. My child even said “I get it now!” after doing a few practice numbers. That’s the best feeling. It comes in a sturdy tote box. I love that it goes to the thousands so it will be something that my child can use to continually model larger numbers.

Great for individual use. I wish the tens sticks and hundreds flats were not not hallow in the back.

Durability Good

I used these manipulatives in my classroom when I was teaching math to my Grade 1’s. These can be used in Grade 2, 3, and even 4 or perhaps higher particularly if your child doesn’t have a good grasp of place value. I only bought one set for my Grandson, which was fine, but 2 or more sets would be even better for math. After receiving them just invest in a larger plastic container for easy storage.
