Great foundational networking study guide
This book provides a great foundation to build upon for networking. Highly recommend for entry level network admins and seasoned veterans. This books follows me everywhere or maybe I follow it everywhere. I’m updating my review to write that my book did not come with an access code for Pearson. The book I purchased was suppose to be new and should have came with an access code.

More a review guide than a study guide. Study tips. Exam tips.
I passed the Network+ N10-007 exam two days ago with a 811. That's exactly mid-way between passing (720) and perfect (900). So I did well but could have done better. I bought, but did not use this book by Emmett Dulaney. I returned the book to Amazon. This book is more a review guide than a study guide. Here's what I mean. The CompTIA exam objectives break up a single topic into several sub-topics. Example: Wireless networking is covered by objectives 1.6, 4.3 and 5.4. If you are new to networking this makes learning wireless more difficult than covering wireless in a single coherent chapter. If you already know wireless then a review guide with a one-to-one mapping of test objectives to text is typically a shorter read. Mr. Dulaney's book mostly is a review guide. The exceptions are combining two cabling objectives into a single chapter (6), two of the three wireless objectives into a single chapter (7), and cloud and virtualization objectives into a single chapter (8). Otherwise the text maps directly to the exam objectives.PROS: 1. At 490 pages of text the book is relatively concise. 2. There are two 6-page tear-out "cheat sheets" inside the front and back covers you can use for pre-exam review (but don't let that be your only review!), 3. There's a 47-page glossary that you can also use as a review.CONS: If you like to make notes on the margins this is not the book for you. I measured the margins at a very narrow 1/2 inch.STUDY TIPS. 1. Download the exam objectives pdf from comptia.org. Print those objectives and before you schedule the test make sure you understand everything listed under each and every objective. This is a challenging test, you have about one minute per question, and you will be under great stress. You must know this material cold. 2. I used Mike Meyers' video course at udemy.com. As I watched this 24 hour, 172 episode course I made notes in his Network+ Passport review guide. That choice of books was a mistake as I would have to hunt through the book as I watched an episode. I should have bought his All-in-One study guide as it maps directly to the videos. 3. If you are new to networking then I strongly suggest first reading a study guide (and video series) followed by a review guide to reinforce your learning. Learn this stuff twice (or more)! 4. If you already know networking and just want a review guide then Dulaney or Meyers' Passport book are good. 5. Do NOT rely on any single source for study or review materials. There are many topics that are best learned by graphics or tables and these are typically missing in the review or study guides I've seen. Examples: A. Kerberos is best learned by a graphic displaying the transactions between client and servers. B. Fiber connectors are best learned by seeing photos. So, do a web search for images of graphics, pictures, and tables to supplement the book(s). And use an image viewer/editor to make notes directly on the image. I use FastStone Image Viewer. Images also make for a quick pre-exam review. 6. Make some flash cards to memorize facts. Examples: Ports & protocols, Wi-Fi standards, and Ethernet standards.EXAM TIPS. 1. On the exam I took there were three simulations questions. This type of question requires you to perform some type of task, so some type of hands-on learning is beneficial before taking the exam. 2. I was not required to actually do IP subnetting but there were several questions that required a clear understanding of subnetting. 3. Manage your time during the test! Do not get stuck on any single question. I had 90 minutes to answer 80 questions. That means I had 67.5 seconds to answer a question. Pace yourself. If you get stuck you can mark the question and return to it later. 4. Many of the exam objectives are in the form of "Given a scenario...". That means you are required to solve a problem. The exam questions also require you to solve problems. You will not be asked "What port does HTTPS use", instead a question will ask you to diagnose and fix a problem that implicitly requires you to understand that HTTPS uses port 443.I hope you do well on your exam!

Great book - passed N10-007 Network+ exam
First off, the author does not know that I am posting this, nor am I receiving any money for posting this.I have many years working in various fields of in information services. I needed to acquire this certification, so I chose Mr. Emmet Dulaney book. Mr. Dulaney writes extrodinary books and his material is always 100% on target with the domains and objective of each exam that CompTIA has. Over many years of teaching others, nationwide and worldwide.. I have recommend Mr. Emmet Dulaney's books to others. And when I need a base reference, in regards to the very large WAN that I work on and other systems and disciplines in "I.T.", his books are a very much appreciated addition to my library.I would also like to Thank the author, for his help and advice in regards to working with book publishers in the past. Thank You Sir. -Tom

Excellent Study Material!
This is a excellent book to study for the CompTIA Network Plus exam. I passed my test on July 31st, 2020. To get a better understanding of everything, do not just rely on one source. Use as many resources as you can to study but this is what I would consider one of the best options for studying! Good luck!

Smart purchase!!
I'm glad I bought this book. I've been a fan of exam cram after it helped me pass my A+ exams with flying colors. This book has everything you need to pass the exam, from the "cheat sheet" in the front of the book, the review questions after each chapter, and a practice test in the back. I now feel confident to take this test and pass it. Tried Mike Meyers book at first, but he tends to go off topic a bit. This book really helps!!!

Misses some important details
Others mentioned that this book is more of a review guide than study guide which I agree with. For example, this book BARELY covers subnetting. You are told what subnetting is, but it blows my mind that it does not go in depth about how to calculate subnets. You can absolutely be expected to have a few questions on the Network+ exam about subnetting, you will need to know how to calculate subnets quickly and accurately. This book completely glosses over subnetting which is really unfortunate. If you have some experience with computers, or already have your A+ then this is an okay book to pick up. I picked up the A+ ExamCram and that was excellent but this book completely misses some key fundamentals. Be sure to have some more supplemental material that goes in depth on other topics. If you are completely new to networking, it's best to skip this book.

Passed!
Great Book, Great Read. Did not feel overwhelmed. It was a good pace. I enjoyed the test bank. Together I was able to pass my Network+ Exam.

This book + 2 years experience and I passed..
This book is great, but you always want to use two sources to study for your exam. I used only this book as my only study material but I've been a network technician for 2 years. My experience in the field carried me through the exam. I recommend this book, but also watch professor messers videos as well, especially If you have no experience.

Good book, but could use more difficult practice questions.
I just got my network+ cert after doing some online video tutorials and reading the book. This book is good at highlighting important points and the questions are helpful, but I found the exam to be more difficult. There was a lot more scenario questions about subnetting than the book provided, so I would keep that in mind. The book also comes with a course notes section in the front and back of the book so it makes for a good review just before taking the exam. Good luck everyone!

Exam Cram
This is not a book on Networking, It's an exam cram, a review for your Net+ exam prep. I downloaded the Kindle version and i received the test prep code by email. All that for under $20Can, can't go wrong with that. Like anything else use more then one source to study for your exam. Overall good product!
