If you are wanting to program your Yaesu VX-7R HT via the Commander software, this usb cable will handle that task without issue.The Yaesu VX-7R utilizes a screw in usb programing cable and this cable worked flawlessly. The free software, VX-7R Commander communicates via this usb cable, without any issues.I was able to initially download from the VX and then, after programming the freq's/channels into the software, upload into the VX flawlessly.I saved countless hours buy purchasing this usb cable. Well worth the small cost.If you're in the market for a usb cable to utilize the commander software for your VX-7R HT, then i can whole heartedly recommend this usb cable without reservation. Oh and as a side note, if you think it might be needed, the Commander software is capable of doing the MARS/CAP mod on the VX, utilizing just it's sofware. No soldering required.Worked like a charm! =)
