The sequal is a "must watch"
I almost gave it a 3 star as it was the weakest of all of the sequal but if i had have ae this film and not the other parts id have said its a really good film and things unexpect in it may not happen but it was ok where as part 3 is a 7 star plus but part 2- is needed in order to continue the story. This film is really full of action and it is slightly more relalistic than the average film of this type as Liam does get slightly hurt and there may be some lessons in it but i dont want to spoil it for you but all three parts of the sequal need to be watched to put it all together..it is an action packed film and charactors from part one to two certainly maintined their charactor and the charactor Lenor was humbled by force.. what i will give away is the story continues from part one but part three is a totally differnt ball game but still watching all three is a must and you so not feel there needs to be a part 4 even though it would not go refused this end.

Highly unlikely but very entertaining
The media could not be loaded. Taken 2 is, in my opinion, a highly unlikely but nevertheless very entertaining sequel to the original set in Paris.Released in October of 2012, Taken 2 is a 2012 English-language French action thriller film directed by Olivier Megaton. It stars Liam Neeson as the remorseless killing machine: Bryan Mills and Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen as his hapless daughter and wife respectively, caught up--when they expect it--in a full pitched battle in yet another European capital.Despite receiving negative reviews from the critics, Taken 2 was a box office success; it earned more than its predecessor probably because the brutality had been dialed back in the sequel, thus making it available to a wider audience. This time round, the entire Mills film is targeted whilst on holiday in Istanbul by the leader of a gang of Albanian mobsters searching revenge for the death of his son--by torture using electrocution--at the hands of Bryan in the first movie. Total mayhem predictably follows as Neeson's character plows his way through a platoon of the bad guys, killing everyone in sight. This film does by it says on the tin; it's full of well crafted, highly entertaining and fast paced action. Bryan appears to use some form of Aikido to dish out close quarters death. It's all been done before, by Steven Seagal of course, but Neeson is far more appealing at it and--not to mention--a much better actor.Taken 2 is over before you know it. If you're in need of some mindless violence, then look no further. Recommended but suspend your critical faculties especially when his daughter starts throwing grenades.Chris Allen is a Hypnotherapist, Technical Author and writer with the following books available through Amazon: Reality Shaper: The Quantum Detective Parallel Lifetimes The Beam of Interest: Taken by Storm Hypnotic Tales 2013: Some Light Some Dark Call of the Void: The Strange Life and Times of a Confused Person: 1

MORE OF THE GOOD STUFF
As a big Liam Neeson fan, I enjoyed the original 'Taken' immensely and don't think that it ever received the acclaim it deserved. It was, therefore, no real surprise when a sequel was issued. This is, really, just a thinly veiled excuse to create more of the violent scenes that peppered the original film and the plot line is just a slim vehicle to display Mr Neeson's talents again. Sound like a criticism? Not at all; that's exactly what I hoped for!I don't know if it's a reflection of Liam Neeson's age but the style of editing of the action sequences in this film, chopping from one view to another every two seconds, makes a jerky and disjointed piece of film and it may well be that every blow, move, counter move or throw was filmed separately and then stitched together. The more flowing, single take, action sequences in the original were better. The characters in the first film were a bit more fleshed out and three dimensional instead of, as here, mere set dressing for the action. And then there are a couple of plot muddles, such as the lead villain announcing that he will kill Mr Neeson "right here, in Albania" (I paraphrase) and then trying to kill him in Istanbul, in Turkey. So this film is nowhere near as good as the original but, having said all of that, what I wanted was a stylish film showing off the acting and action skills of Liam Neeson and that's exactly what I got. The fact that the Istanbul settings added a visual spectacle and the production values are very evidently first class just added gloss to the romp. No Oscars here but I thoroughly enjoyed this film and am content that I got exactly what I paid for. Bring on 'Taken 3' !!
