For the price this is an interesting little gadget. It does respond pretty well to voice if you're speaking loud enough. There is no sensitivity adjustment. The frequency response is between about 300Hz to 1300Hz, so it doesn't respond to bass sounds very often. As such, it's not good for a lighting effect to be used with music as it doesn't keep up with the beat of a song.
