NO SPOILERS fabulous fantasy series
If you want a fabulous fantasy story about some very complicated characters with great development arcs, you're in the right place! Great series. I ripped through the whole thing in a little over a week.Personally, I do NOT recommend reading the prequel in between books 2 and 3 (which I think is actually recommended by the author). I did not, and I thought it was great. The prequel gives you the backstories of several supporting characters that pop up later in the series, but I thought it was much more fun to read the series and then go back to read the backstories later. There was also zero chance of me being willing to put down the main plot after book 2 and reading backstories for a while.Although SJM is known for her "spicy" writing, there is actually very little explicit smut (which is good in my opinion, phrases like "throbbing member" make me laugh and cringe, I can't do it). If you're looking for maximum smut, this is not it. "Empire of Storms" probably has the majority of the smutty scenes -- definitely the most explicit descriptions out of any of the books. Most of the other books have some steamy romance, but generally end before clothing comes off.

All time favorite fantasy series
I love this series with all my heart. I could reread this series over and over and never get sick of it. The characters, the plot, the world-building — it’s incredible. Forever a favorite.

Fast Paced, continent Spanning Adventure!
Great series of books with strong, loveable protagonists. Gets very hot and steamy at times. The bad guys are a little one dimensional but all in all, a binge worthy romp.

An absolute MAASterpiece
A friend recommended this series to me as I've been in the Psychological Thriller rut for over a year. I just finished and am completely stunned at how amazing this is. Each book is beautifully written, engaging and THEN Kingdom of Ash hits like a truck! I thought, "surely Sarah Maas will run out of steam", but she just keeps going and going with unbelievable storytelling. There were moments throughout the series where I had to pause and just stare into space. LOL!I am a man who does not read Fantasy. Definitely not Romantasy, but Sarah has shown me the way. This is my genre of choice now! This series is an absolute masterpiece. Everyone should read this.

I was skeptical at first….
TLDR- slow build but 100% worth reading.I refused to read this series for the longest time because people were hyping it up sooo much. I was afraid of being let down. One of my closest friends assured me I would love it so I gave it a shot.In my personal opinion- book 1 and 2 are not the best in the series. They are necessary world building books. Each book got better and better and I really felt like I was building a relationship with the characters. In the end, I full on cried my eyes out many times reading the last book because I felt so close to all these characters. If you are looking for spice- that doesn’t show up until the back half of the series.I read 100+ books a year and this series is officially in my top 20 of all time.

One my new fav series
Love the series and the books themselves are adorable but there are some inking problems in many of the books- like for a couple chapters the letters will just get really black and thick then go back to normal. Anyway I got it on sale and it was definitely worth the 80 bucks
