Outstanding Value & protection.....peace of mind & durable for just $60.....why ride unprotected ?
This is a tremendous value for your $60 ! Jacket is comfortable & versatile, zip out winter liner, open ventilation zippers & it can work even in 80+ degree weather IF you are moving. Also good down into the low 50s (cold as I ride), I'm sure down to the 40's with a better thermal than I use. Fit is good, but arms a bit long. I THINK my size is a L (it will say on my review header), and I"m 5'9" and 210# and at that weight, the chest is perfect but the arms are a tad long on me. The real solution is for my weight to drop down below 200, then I'm sure the next size down will be perfect, thanks to my new 18:6 Intermittent daily fasting, I'm now at 204# and jacket is now quite loose on me lol ! The only possible criticism I see is the elbow pad pockets seem to be a tad mis-aligned, so that the pads aren't centered on my elbows perfectly. Not sure if it's was sewed slightly off or if my body is out of alignment with the rest of humanity - probably the latter ! Have their insulated pants and they're perfectly suitable too. Fully the value of gear offered at Cycle Gear, but you can't try on first. I read a ton of these reviews & got the sizing right first try. Cheers - David in Texas

It’s a decent jacket.
Great jacket for the price. Waterproof and isn’t too hot. The zipper sucks but I was able to fix it. Fits me well. Got a medium I’m 5’8”

Great jacket for the price!
Great jacket for the price! I've had this jacket for over 4 years now and I am very impressed with its performance, especially at this price! I ride a dual sport in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico during the summer and fall months and mornings can be cold! It breaks the wind well but a hoodie under the liner helps me stay warm. During the sunny days in the large high desert valleys it can warm up pretty good and as long as I'm moving the vents work well (Of course the liner and hoodie are now rolled up in my back pack). I've spent numerous 8+ hour 200 mile days with no discomfort. I even caught a rut wrong and landed in some sagebrush, the forearm padding did its job and the jacket showed not even a scuff. I'm really considering buying another as a spare. Many years ago (2002) with my first street bike I purchase an Alpinestars textile jacket on clearance for around $100, this jacket is about on par with that one in quality.

Comfortable, excellent value and great build quality!
Well made, perfect fit and size as well as a fantastic value for the money! Plent of pockets with zippers and velcro to keep your things secured. Highly functional, safety features and style! Would highly recommend and purchase again!

Nice features. Good quality material. A bit loose when purchasing per the size chart.
Great jacket. Fit: I'm 5'10", 175 lbs, athletic build: 44" chest, 33" waist. XL per the size chart is too big for me. Even with the nice warm liner installed, there is just too much room inside. If you are near my size then I recommend a size large.Everything is very nice and high quality except for the fit. Arm length is fine. Waist is ok since it is adjustable with external velcro straps. The torso and chest however are too loose. I plan to sell this one on FB Market and then buy another one here in size L.

A very good value
I've been riding with this jacket for a little over a week, in temperatures ranging from the low 40's to the mid-70's. Thus far, I've been very happy with the garment. It seems to be well made, with quality materials. On colder mornings, I've found that a thin base layer with a wool mid-layer keeps me toasty warm. On the warmer afternoons, I use just a shirt with the liner in the jacket and my comfort level is also just right. As advertised, the jacket does a great job of keeping the wind out, which I believe is the secret to the jacket's warmth. I can not speak to the jacket's durability in a crash, and I hope I never can. However, I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't do it's job under that condition as well. The sizing is good; at 6'4" tall and 200lbs I ordered an XL, and the fit is just right. The soft micro fleece/tricot collar liner is a nice bonus, and eliminates any potential for chafing. I would have preferred zippered gussets at the wrists, but the pleated Velcro closures seem to work well enough, and I can't really complain about cold air coming in at those points. The zipper in the rear of the jacket mates well to my rain pants (of different manufacture). The manufacturer seems to have gotten it right with this product.

After 1.5 months of decent use I can say I have 0 buyers remorse and quite happy with the purchase. Note - the review below is for both the matching pants and jacket. Reviewed the common parts first, then a separate section for pant and jacket specific parts after. Quality, protection, and value for $ is probably unmatched and the reason for initial purchase. Have received many comments on them for being a good looking suit. They are quite warm, and with the matching pants I purchased was sweating a lot on hot days. Not recommended for city driving on hot days (although not sure what a good protective alternative is) but on highway is fine. As the weather cools now in September in Canada I've been wearing everyday and have never been cold yet. Zippers are all YKK (quality zipper name brand). Only complaint is wish there was a little strap attached to zippers for easier access, particularly with gloves on. The pant to jacket zipper is large and sturdy but the possible weak point is the material attached to jacket which is a spandex type material (appears to be well stitched and a double layer of the material). The CE protection padding is soft foam like material (not hard shell). Some of comments I read before purchase stated that this is not actually CE approved. Can't comment as to whether they are or not, but they do feel like they will provide adequate protection. I have yet to deal with a serious rain storm, so can't comment on waterproofing, but they are definitely wind proof and the mild rain I have ridden in had 0 issues. **Pants** Ordered pants 2 sizes too big due to availability and comments saying to purchase 1 size up to fit over jeans. The result is a length that is fine with boots on (and quite long without). However, the knee protection ends up being below the knee when standing tall. When sitting on my sport-touring bike however (knees bent 90°) they fit over the knees perfectly... the protection that offers in accident is yet to be determined (hopefully never). Pants only have 2 airflow vents and not breathable (assuming that's for the water/wind proof/resistant feature). Can be a little slippery on the seat. Tends to slide forward (sport touring bike) particularly when braking. **Jacket** Ordered large which is my size, but possibly a little tight fitting depending on how you like your gear to fit, specifically in the neck. Feels kind of small in front and normal in back. With a t-shirt under it's fine, but a second layer really puts a lot of pressure on front of neck area. Overall this jacket is quite tight in neck area (specifically the front) on me, but otherwise fits. Only real complaint, and something I hope they change in future models is the velcro neck strap (above zipper, top of jacket). This should seriously be a button and will never buy another jacket with this design. The velcro can scratch neck, catch any material around it like the dangling part of your helmet strap and neck gaits (which is basically required with this jacket due to the velcro). AGAIN, MESSAGE TO MANUFACTURERS/DESIGNERS (HWK), MAKE THE NECK STRAP A BUTTON!!! My model has 4 vents front and a large vent in back. It is warm with them all open, and warmer with vents closed for those cool night drives back home after a day of sweating in it in the sun. Have not really had to use the liner yet and as stated above it is starting to cool considerably in September in Canada. Padding seems to fit properly. All stitching seems to be well done, with no issues so far, particularly on the velcro parts which is usually first point of failure. RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR QUALITY PROTECTIVE RIDING GEAR FOR A GOOD PRICE. Note that this gear is quite hot, so best for cooler days. Also highly recommend buying pants and jacket together as they zip together which may be highly underrated feature to anyone that hasn't thought about it, and look very good as a 2 pc suit. This product gets 5 stars for doing exactly what it's supposed to - high quality, well made and designed (minus front of neck being tight and velcro instead of button there) and priced to provide incredible value.

I do not know how they make this jacket and ship it to me in Australia for just over $100AUD. It is insane vale. Full removable liner, lots of pockets, removable “armour” which to be fair is pretty naff but better than nothing. I am 5’ 10’, medium build and went with Large. Fits quite well. Very happy with it and it seems not much worse than the $500 jackets I looked at in our local motorcycle centres. As long as you choose the right size I can’t see how you can go wrong with these.
