TV watched on - Sony Bravia KD43XF8096BU 43-Inch Android 4K HDR Ultra HD TVBlu Ray player - Sony UBPX700 UHD Blu-ray.Loved this movie watching it in UHD on the above. I'm sure there will be people saying, that isn't the best set up, while this may be true, for me, it was a massive improvement on the DVD and VHS i recall watching it on ages ago. I read some reviews and thought, let me find out just how good the transfer is, well, I have to admit, the positive reviews on the 4K transfer are correct! This is a excellent watch again, clarity & colours are brilliant for the age and the graininess for me, I found was kept to a minimum, yes, in places there were poorer scenes than others but don't expect quality of what today's studio's can output, because you cannot compare and the technology is different. The sound is sharp and clean but this is through the TV's speakers, so I can't give you a external source review in terms of sound, this is in comparison to my Sky TV box output.Take this for what it is and immerse yourself in a movie that is a classic and enjoy it all over again, worth the purchase indeed.

I'm not just spouting dust.This movie has aged like a fine wine!Obviously it was remastered back in 2010 I believe - they fixed a few bits like where you used to be able to see Dillion's arm clearly tied behind his back - but best of all, it went into HD.Me and my pal, both in our 40s, both massive fans of all the classic 80s movies, caught this from the corner of our eye as we were leaving my mother's. She had just bought a 4K TV, and neither of us had seen Predator in a long time, but this looked like a new movie!Due to it's lack of CGI, and it mostly being outdoor shots of the jungle, it was like watching an Attenborough documentary.We both sat down, and were just drawn back into this movie like it was the first time we'd seen it!The jungle was alive, it did look like a documentary.We sat and watched an hour and a half of Predator, and when it was over, I went straight over to the nearest electrics shop and bought a 58" 4K TV!And the first movie I bought for it was Predator.And we sat and watched it all over again still in awe of how an 1987 movie could look like that!That's why it remains the best action movie ever imo.

Arguably, one of the best action movies of all time. Possibly, one of the best sci-fi movies of all time. Definitely, one of my favorite movies of all time.I still remember the night I watched "Predator" for the first time, staying up late in front of the TV, getting Alan Silvestri's main musical theme basically imprinted on my brain. I still keep rewatching this movie every year, and doing so on BluRay adds to the experience. Highly recommended.

Having heard how terrible the new Predator movie is and being due to watch it shortly I just wanted to remind myself how incredible the original was. This film terrified me in parts when I first saw it as a youngster and it was a non stop adrenaline fuelled film I loved enough to watch every time it was ever repeated on television. It never got old and now, having watched it for the first time again in a long time it still doesn't really feel like it has. It's not so scary these days perhaps, the effects of course have aged a little but somehow the film retains all it's charm and it's a still a great movie from start to finish with Arnie at his best. Why I did this to myself I don't know, as clearly any shoddiness in the new movie is going to be magnified having just refreshed the awesomeness of where it all began...

A team of soldiers go into the jungle on a rescue mission only to find themselves hunted and picked off one by one by an unseen alien monster. A scifi action classic and one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best films, this is a tense, action packed masterpiece. Very funny in places too with Shane Black as a marine telling very filthy and funny jokes so not a family classic but an adult action spectacular that rarely gets made by mainstream Hollywood these days as action movies now have to be rated 12a to sell tickets. The effects are perhaps slightly dated but apart from that the film still holds up to repeat viewing 30 odd years later and it looks superb on bluray while actor Kevin Peter Hall is a menacing and terrifying alien with good support from Carl Weathers and an excellent performance from Schwarzenegger. This spawned sequels, and a spin off series Alien vs Predator but this is the original and best. Fun fact, Jean Claude Vann Damme was originally supposed to play The Predator but was considered too short for the role!

Sat down to watch this with a deaf friend but unfortunately the subtitle preset function was greyed out, the resulting black text, on a predominantly black background, made conversation impossible to follow. Have informed Amazon (29/01/2021) and to their credit they have said they will investigate but this could take some time to resolve (assuming the problem can be fixed).The movie was just as good, if not better, than we had recollected and if it were not for the subtitle issue would have been more than worthy of a 5 Star Rating.UPDATE:One month later and, despite having supplied Amazon with screenshots (at the request of Amazon Technical Support), they cannot find any problems at their end. Interestingly, yesterday I was offered, and accepted, a full refund for the movie rental. Having subsequently bought the DVD copy can now watch when required with full subtitles.As stated above, if subtitles are required buy the DVD as opposed to spending money on the Prime Video version.

One of my all time favourite arnie films was hoping for a 4k remaster but took a chance on the Blu-ray. I have a optoma uhd 4k projector with xbox one x and can honestly say it's appsolutly stunning. No grain what so ever and upscaled almost to 4k quality. I have a non atmos 7.2 sony amp which delivers a great surround audio. Highly Recommended a must purchase and I was gob smacked at the claritySuper fast delivery as usual
