Billing Boats 1:40 Scale R.N.L.I Waveny Lifeboat Model Building Kit

The plans have limited detail in them. For a Billings model I thought it would have been better coming from such a reputable company. The model is primarily plastic however the deck housing (bridge) is made up from wood, which I found a bit strange considering that the model was primarily all plastic, if they had kept the model all plastic it would have been a lot better. The finished product, was not very good at all, the wooden bridge made it look rather strange. Not a model that I kept unfortunately, it went in the bin.

The boat made as described makes a fine model, Billing Boats describe it a beginners model i.e. the first you have made. I realise we are not talking Airfix here but to describe it as suitable for the first model made is ridiculous. The instructions are just a series of pictures with no information or advice. They do not even specify the colour paints and you have to go to the Billing boat website to get the recommended colours, even then you depend on the pictures on the box to work out where the colours are applied. I have made in the past the Santa Maria and started the Bounty, both Billing kits both ships had far more information in the instructions. As I stated I realise that these kits are perhaps more than a first time modeller should attempt but to describe them as suitable for a beginner is very misleading

Awful. Kit contains two thin plastic pieces: the hull and the deck. Really poor quality and way over priced.

Very nice, as rc boat be warned space is tight. Small motors a must and rudders, it would be great if the instruction manual had motor rudder suggestions. To buy.
