California CostumesAdult Grim Reaper Costume

I live in an active adult community where ages run from 55-95. Our annual Halloween party is well attended by all age groups. Well, it's entirely possible that someone in their 90's isn't encouraged by the sight of the grim reaper, especially when the grim reaper is carrying a clipboard of names and tells them he sees their name on there. It didn't help that my wife was dressed as a corpse and told everyone she always accompanied the reaper on his nightly rounds!We won first place but no one seemed willing to actually hand us the prize package - apparently in the dimly lit room the scythe looked a bit more real than it actually is. I'm sure I did nothing to encourage that belief. Older women ran when I asked them to dance, younger women proclaimed that it wasn't their time and that I could go to h..l which is silly because that is not where the grim reaper hangs out (those people are already dead after all).Oh, I should mention that my wife had gotten me a voice changing device that I clipped inside the cloak and it made for a very scary sounding reaper.A very nice costume (do order the separate skeleton gloves - they really add to the effect and of course you need the scythe as well) at a very reasonable cost. The XL size fit my 6'2", 220lb body just fine.

I bought this costume for my son mainly because of the price to be honest and so my expectations were not very high. The material is very soft and light. It fight quite snug on the chest area but it is a bit long but my son says he can work it. This is for trick or treating this year and I also bought the Rubies Costume Sickle with Collapsible Handle to go with it. He tried them on and now he can't wait for Halloween. Thank you to the supplier and thank you Amazon for the delivery time and packaging. The two items came in one box with everything intact. I am very pleased with this purchase :)

The product is fair for the price and achieved the costume look we were going for. My boyfriend wears a 36 and is 6 foot and we ordered the XL. It fit well, but he usually doesn’t wear an XL. Would not suggest for a plus size guy. Other than that, not bad!

Good value for the price. Robe seems of pretty high quality, color is consistent, no frays or obvious defects. A few observations:1.) You might think from looking at the sleeves that the bottom of the robe is roomy for the legs. It is not. It's actually pretty small. Not a big problem for moving around as the material is stretchy, but if you are expecting the bottom of the robe to "flow", it's not going to.2.) The material is not thick. Shining a light thru it, you can somewhat see thru it. Just partially, it's not transparent. But I was a little surprised by that. If you where white under it, it's probably going to show thru. I'm going to use it in a dark setting, so won't be an issue for me.3.) The mask, like all masks seem to be these days, ships folded. So it's out of shape. Have to fix that by heating it with a hair dryer and stretching it. Have not attempted that yet.

This costume was the bomb! My 21 year old (still kid at heart) wore this on Halloween. The large fit him perfectly, he is about 5'10, 170 (skinny) - The robe fit pretty much as shown in the photo, it was loose, but that is okay for the Grim Reaper. The hood and sleeves are long. The mask was super scary and he accomplished his goal of frightening the neighborhood children and their parents. He also purchased some skeleton gloves which added to the scariness. We did have to use a blow dryer on the mask to get the crease out, but that was no big deal. So, thank you, it was great and super scary.

How I Rate:- Five Stars - Accomplishes purpose for purchasing and greatly exceeds expectations.- Four Stars - Accomplishes purpose for purchasing and meets all expectations; item is and works as described.- Three Stars - Accomplishes purpose for purchasing but does not meet all expectations; misleading posting or small defects.- Two Stars - Reasonably accomplishes purpose for purchasing but significantly deviates from expectations/has numerous flaws.- One Star - Does not whatsoever accomplish purpose for purchasing. Entirely flawed, defective or deceptful.Time Owned: 3+ years.Item Usage: Once, for halloween.--The Good:(The positive qualities of the item)-This black robe is fairly cheap, fits as expected, and looks about as expected.The Bad:(The qualities that may be negatives or unexpected for some)-The mask feels very cheap, as does the robe. Thin material and smells when opened. Okay for a one time use for Halloween but don't expect to keep it around for very long.-Unfortunately it doesn't come with the scythe, so it's not really a full costume.-The hood doesn't drape well around the head, isn't cut very eloquently.--Final Recommendation: ConsiderThis is a fine standard cheap black robe to get for part of a halloween costume you expect to wear once or maybe twice. Plan to get it a bit ahead of time and let it air out before wearing.

I am not a huge fan of costumes, so I am happy to say that it worked well. It fit well, it was comfortable, it was easy to wear and easy to get around in. For the money definitely 5 stars. I did feel it would have been nice to pay a little more and have it come with the gloves and sickle, instead of having to buy those separately.Thank you,Tony Volonino

The costume was as mentioned. The costume was well-fitting. The mask was pretty scary-looking and it fit perfectly. Some of the kids were actually frightened by the mask which is a testimony of its scariness. The only complaint was that the mask smelled of chemicals which made it difficult to wear it for an extended period of time.

Fits as expected. Perfect for my ghostface costume.
