Part of the reason I ordered this was that the description said it was vegan. It's not, because it contains beeswax. Aside from that, it's a very clever design to have a pour spout on a pretty glass jar for a massage candle. The candle does take a while to melt enough to use, so make sure you allow time for that.The scent is lovely (very mild in the jar, but more prominent during the massage), and it works pretty well as a massage oil with just a bit of a waxy feel. Nice and relaxing.

I've been curious about massage candles before but thought they must be for BDSM:P After reading some reviews though, I was encouraged that this doesn't pose a danger of burning and decided to try it. I'm really glad I did because it's wonderfully pampering. I have dry skin, so I appreciate oils anyway. A massage is always welcome. Add candle, warmth, and yummy scents, and it doesn't get much better. The candle is in a matte glass jar with wooden lid. It's the perfect size for melting and holding with a practical spout. It's packaged in bubble wrap in an attractive cardboard tube. I think $24.99 plus 5% off is a fair price. Now that I know, I would definitely get something like this again.

I know most couples would use this candle for special nights in, so to speak, but I was interested in the vanilla scent, the pour spout, and the interesting promise that the wax melts at a low temp to become a velvety massage oil.And they were right. I've bought novelty naughty candles before, and that's not exactly what this is.This is an elevated experience, the candle lovely enough to display in any room in the house. We burned it for a few hours one Friday and it hardly evaporated but the wax that did melt became an easily pourable, luxurious oil (has a tiny bit of "grit" but I personally feel that sensation in most oils I use, if you know you know), and my kind partner used it to rub some sore spots on my legs and back. The oils last a long time and are conducive to effective massage techniques that require ample lubrication.A little oil goes a long way, and the candle has offered three massages thus far and isn't 15% burned, which is seriously impressive. The waxes/oils seems thoughtfully designed.Oh, and don't worry that the oil will "burn" you because it's coming from a candle, these waxes are designed to melt at a lower temp (think how coconut oil just turns from a solid into liquid in your hand), while the oil when poured into the hand is pleasantly warm (not even that hot), it certainly wouldn't "burn" you unless you were being egregiously irresponsible with the candle's flame itself.All in all would make a wonderful luxurious gift and provides two purposes as well!

I see a few people talking in the reviews about how great this smells, but I have barely been able to detect the vanilla scent and same with my husband. It doesn't smell bad or anything, just doesn't put out much of an aroma at all. It seems to work really nicely however, when used as massage oil. It does seem to rub in quickly, but it leaves the skin soft and smooth and easy to glides your hands over.For me I found the wax way too hot to be dripped directly onto my back after it had been lit for a few minutes. I needed my partner to put some in his hands first so that it cooled slighty, then take it and rub it in. But I'm guessing other people may have a higher tolerance for this.

The Vanilla Bean Brew Massage Candle smells so lovely. Not overbearing, but a nice, light vanilla scent, with just a hint of coffee. The wax melted rather quickly, and it poured nicely from the pouring spout. The warmth of the melted wax felt really, really nice on the skin! It massaged in well. It left my skin soft, but it also made it feel like it had thick wax on it. It was a little tacky feeling, too. While enjoyable, I had to wash it off afterward.
