Fantastic product
I have been using Gaco Roof for years. I use it to coat RV roofs. I have done two that originally had some not so obvious leaks and they are leak free now. One of the former leaking RVs has a metal seamed roof, one a commonly used rubber membrane product. The rubber roof had been "repaired" numerous times with many other products. I scraped and pried off a full five gallon pail full of old repair goo. After more than four years, hail storms and the blazing sun in the west Texas desert it is still leak free and appears as new. I will buy and apply to everything I have and to anyone who I meet who wants a life time RV roof.Stay off of this product when wetted. It is forever slippery when wet.

Excellent product, Excellent Customer Service
The product was put on the flat roof portion of our house. We didnt get a real downpour to test it out until this past week. Nine (9) inches of rain in 3 hours (a record for South Florida in a non-hurricane event)!! Everything was dry as a bone!! Such nice people to deal with. No complaints. Only accolades. Nell

Didn't work for me after extensive prep and following of directions
This product did not work for me. I spent around $1500 on wash, primer, tape, and product for a 8.5 square roof. I did a ton of research before applying. I did the adherence test at several locations on my roof. It didn't stick. So, I knew I'd have to prime the roof. To begin, I used an 11hp Mi-T-M pressure washer with aggressive rotary jet nozzle to remove all loose previous coatings, which included elastomeric and silver coat. Almost all of the elastomeric came up, but the underlying silver coat did not. Next, I used Gaco's roof cleaner. Sprayed it on, let it sit, then pressure washed it off. The roof came out very clean. Next day I blew off the roof and checked to make sure it was dry. I let the sun beat down for a few more hours before I began applying primer. Once dry, I put down the gaco primer as directed. No problems. Then, I put gaco liquid roof tape on all seems and around all protrusions. Next, I put gaco tape on the perimeter of the roof over the drip edge to cover nail penetrations. I then did as the gaco Hawaii sales rep recommended in his YouTube video, and put liquid roof tape over the regular roof tape to seal it very well. Finally after all the prep I was ready to apply the coating. I thoroughly mixed the 5 gallons of roof coat. I then added the gaco black roof tint to turn the first coat gray. I mixed again for several minutes. Once fully mixed, I started to roll the coating on as directed. The coating went on thick and really seemed to be of very high quality. When I came to protrusions such as skylights or vents, I carefully cut in with a brush, applying plenty of coating. Tinting gray was a great idea, it made applying the 2nd coat very easy. I ended up using all of the coating and the results looked great. I had high hopes that this would be the last roof coating I'd ever apply, as advertised.Fast forward just a year, I went up on the roof to inspect how it was holding up, and much to my misery the coating bubbled up in several locations. I was so disappointed and mad. So I called Gaco. Of course the first thing they said is that the roof had moisture in/on it when the coating was applied. I knew this was wrong because I painstakingly followed all of their directions. They gave me the area sales reps number so I called him and sent him pictures. After explaining the steps I followed, he knew I applied the coating correctly, so he came out for a look. He climbed on the roof, which he wasn't thrilled about, and cut up a bubble. Upon inspection of the bibble, the silver coat had pulled away from the torch down membrane. You could see from the piece that was cut off that the gaco didn't pull away. I was pretty mad that Gaco states that their product loves silver coat. Apparently silver coat doesn't love gaco, or their primer. So, the rep said sorry and gave me 3 gallons of more gaco that he told me he took from his basement and left. All of the labels were painted over in black. At this point I just threw the stuff away. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT APPLYING THIS PRODUCT ON A ROOF UNLESS IT IS THE FIRST COATING YOU'RE PUTTING DOWN OVER UNTOUCHED ROOFING MATERIAL OR MEMBRANE. This was a very expensive failed experiment!!!

Very Impressed!
I am very pleased and impressed by the Gaco roof coating. I used the Gaco Liquid tape prior to this application and I'd recommend to do the same if using Gaco Roof. The Liquid Tape really fills in the cracks and covers seems well. In fact after using the Tape before I could seal the roof, my leak stopped, even in a deluge thunder storm!

Wonderful product!
Prior to painting the roof of my shipping container I had the inside of the container sprayed with closed cell foam insulation. The inside was still extremely hot. After applying gaco gr1600 to the roof the inside dropped by 15 to 20 degrees. Before applying you could fry an egg on top, now the top is cool to the touch. Wonderful product. Wish I would have applied before the expense of the insulation.

I do not feel this was a good deal/
Shipping time was reasonable. The product was old. There was about one out of the total five gallons that had formed a cake at the top and had to be discarded.Would not buy again from this source.

Expensive, but well worth it
I have 2 flat roofs, both have been nothing but trouble. When I had my roof drain replaced, the contractor recommended gaco roof. I had always done the silver with rubber garbage. You must mix this well with a drill and mixing attachment. Coverage calculator is spot on IF you have coated before. My garage roof has never been sealed, just patched. Coverage was less due to the bumpy asphalt surface.I waited one day between coats. Should have done gray first, white second. I found it difficult to see where I had layed down the second coat.Overall, I feel this product is worth the extra cost so long as the surface and warranty hold up.
