Compared to spouts with caps on the tip, these provide a much more reliable seal and are eliminate the awkward spout for storing gas in 5 gallon cans. Using them for storage also might free up useful, old-style gas can spout, if you have one (spouts that actually let gas come out of a gas can without a hassle --- remember those?) for use at the moment of pouring. This in turn saves untold aggravation, a fair amount of spilled gas, the constant need for a third hand, and considerable arm strain by not having to deal with today's modern, "improved" spouts, while holding a heavy gas can that has the handles in the wrong place in the air while the new spouts take longer and longer to fill whatever it is that still requires gas. This after you get flow started, hopefully that without spilling gas all over the place. Highly recommended!

Doesn’t fit all sizes of cans but fine for the sizes that it does fit

Perfect for capping a five gallon fuel can. Don't have to leave the nozzle on when transporting it in a vehicle. It makes it so much easier to spin the cap on and off over a nozzle, when filling the fuel can.

If you are looking for a replacement lid for the very common black plastic gas cap. These do not fit. They are very similar in size and thread, but they are off. I’ve never seen a gas jug with a live like this.
