Great for painting minatures

Everything fits together tightly, the sponges and paper fit properly and it's a great size. Much, much better than the homemade wet palette I was using before.I'll probably mod the inside of the lid into a texture palette, because there's plenty of clearance and I think it will last long enough to make it worth the effort.Recommended.

I only gave three stars because the top lid was so tight it could not be removed without forcing it with a steel ruler. Once off, I put it back on and had the same trouble each time. So to me its useable but the top lid should easy to remove like bottom one. It’s a shame really.

This is a dry palette the manufacturer has repurposed to a wet palette. The majority of the bulk of this unit is the DRY mixing palette in the middle. You're supposed to use a half CM deep lid (either side) as the wet palette, originally intended for brushes. Leaving no room for error, you cannot close it up without sealing it (and needing Hulk Grip to unseal). Worst mistake of my 40K paint purchasing career.

I bought this to paint warhammer 40k models and I found it incredibly easy to use and there was no need to thin my paints for the most part as the wet pallette kept them moist and the perfect consistency. I found that my paints were always drying as I worked and this saved me a lot of trouble! Has a dry portion as well for things that don't take water well

Works very well. Sponge retains moisture for a 3 or 4 days, with only a capful of water needed to replenish

The paint mat works well and keeps the waxed paper sturdy in the time you will use it for your paints. Easy to judge the amount of water saturation and keeping the foam mat itself paint free. Overall it is a great starter paint mat set that will do exactly what you want for both beginner model painters and those that are just getting back into the process.
