Comforting goodness.
Was so happy when I received my Bottarga today I could not wait to make some of my favourite comfort food Spaghetti Bottarga. The dried roe arrived in a beautiful sleeved box, the roe was vacuum packed for freshness and was clean and free from any signs of spoilage or damage to the roe from processing. The flavour is fantastic with no overpowering fish flavour and not overly salted, it just melts in your mouth.I use it much the same way you would use a hard cheese on pasta, finely grating some of bottagar to mix in to the pasta and finely slicing some for serving.1. Boil a serving of spaghetti when done strain and set aside.2.In the spaghetti pan fry off some garlic, red chilli flakes and half of the lemon zest in butter and olive oil till fragrant making sure not to burn the garlic.3. Take pan off the heat and add spaghetti back to the pan, add 3/4 of the grated bottarga and mix quickly till combined.4. Serve out onto desired plate or dish sprinkling over the remaining Bottarga, Lemon zest, a pinch of chilli flakes and flat leaf parsley, arrange the sliced bottarga over the surface and drizzle any left over pan oils over the top amd a dash of olive oil.5. Eat it all yourself! So comforting, So easy, So good!I will be buying more from this company.

Pure delight!
Perfect in every aspect - presentation, packaging, taste, smell, texture, freshness.I haven't tried Bottarga before, so was pleasantly surprised.P.S. The roe itself is enclosed by a thin natural membrane (this is not a wax/plastic shell, but a part of fish ovarian as far as I remember), which helps to keep the roe fresh. It can be easily removed before serving (I recommend to cut a piece, then neatly remove the membrane by hand, then slice/grate the piece).

good color, nice product
It is a lovely color, I added a picture so you can see it. Also pretty good quality. For the price you get a pretty good deal. They removed the blood well too, so it is processed to a good degree.I can't say much about how it goes with European cooking, but using it as karasumi from Asia it works well with sake and on it's own. It's pretty much the same thing just with a different name.If you get a mouldy one get in contact for a refund or exchange. Sometimes the vacuum seal breaks. Which is unfortunate. Either way this is worth a try, since you won't lose your money either way, it's a win win situation for those on the fence :)

Not as expected.
Was quite disappointed with the product. Lacked flavour and saltiness I was expecting. Product did not seem fresh or red and even looked mouldy in parts. Not sure if this was normal or may be the reason for lack of flavour. As it was my first time buying bottarga, wasn't sure what to expect but it definitely did not match the photos. Will likely not buy this again and instead go to specialist store to find it instead.

Nice bottarga
Personally speaking I really liked this bottarga. Definitely there are better bottarga out there but way more expensive then this one . The flavour is decent and meets your expectations. Good value for money if you are looking for a good budget bottarga

First time tasted but guaranteed not the last.
Beautifully presented, this would make a great alternative to the inevitable bottle of wine when dining out.The taste is stunning. A little goes a long way so this is not at all expensive. If you have ever wondered what Umami really is then try this.Highly original, very savoury and a wonderful addition to many seafood dishes.

Quality product
Very good indeed. Proper Bottarga properly cured. Great deep pure ocean flavour..lovely with simple spaghetti recipes but useful to add to any fish dish or sauce for that extra umami. Will order Mr Moris Bottarga again

Expensive and irritatingly packaged
It's various uses have yet to be explored but the favour is good and interesting. It comes in a smart box smartly presented and the item is vacuum pack and has a further freshness seal - namely a wax covering This is very thin and impossible to remove effectively and so one is left with no option but to eat it. One presumes it is not poisonous. If it were thicker it might be possible to peel it off to savour the contents better.I would trade the packing and blurb for a more effective wax coat - or none at all. Shall not repeat the purchase.
