Silicone Ice Ball Molds for Whiskey - Set of 4 Round Makers with Lids for Cocktails, Bourbon, and Drinks

I just wrote out a lengthy, descriptive review for this product and lost it when I accidentally refreshed the page, and I just can't make myself do it all over again. So I'll just hit the highlights: Unlike the other versions of this product I've tried (from different makers) this one is sturdy, easy to fill and close, doesn't leak, doesn't fall apart and it's easy to remove the ice from the mold. I just pull the two pieces apart and so far the ice always stays in the silicone side. pull back the edges of the silicone side of the mold while pushing down in the middle. (Caveat: the way I do it makes the ice come out with some force, so I definitely have to add the ice first, then the liquid.) I don't care if the ice is perfectly round and I haven't made any effort to fill it perfectly to the line. Even so, it's pretty round. I like that, if I overfill it, the extra ice pushes the stopper off instead of pushing the two halves apart. If you use a standard Tervis cup the ice will get stuck before it reaches the bottom of the cup but once you add the liquid it rises enough to let the liquid through. That said, if I was using a powdered drink mix in a Tervis cup I wouldn't put the mix under the ice because it takes longer to mix it up. And due to the ice-coming-out-with-force issue I mentioned, I definitely wouldn't recommend putting the ice in last in that scenario. Bottom line: I would definitely buy this again and they are well worth the cost in my opinion.

These are great ice cube molds for whiskey and other liquors. What I like is that the top is clear so you can see how much water is needed to fill the ball. I have bought other molds which were not transparent and the only way to ensure it is filled is by overflow. A small funnel is included which makes filling a bit easier. It is fairly easy to remove the ice cube from the mold. The mold comes in two halves plus a cover to help prevent spillage in the freezer and allow filling. However, its needed to keep the molds as upright as possible as the covers are not 100% secure. I like that I can make ice cubes individually--takes up less space and easier to find space when the freezer is cramped. A good design and enjoyable for mixed drinks!

I'm dinging them a star simply for the misleading advertisement in the pictures. These are not high end items, it will not produce a perfect spherical globe of ice; EVER! But I totally love them, they are amazing. There's the clear plastic top, and the rubber bottom along with the rubber snap tops. I notice by the many reviews and pictures that many don't know how to follow directions and aren't aware of kindergarten level physics. Folks, water expands when cooled. There is an actual transparent fill line (it's small raised line), if you don't go beyond that you won't risk the ball cracking/breaking. Because of the design the end result will have slight ridge where top and bottom meets, and a potential flat surface at the top of the ball. These work great for large drinks on a hot day. Put two or three on a large tumbler, ice will last longer and your drink stays cool. IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT!

Easy to assemble, easy to clean, and easy to fill. Snug fit of silicon and plastic speaks to good quality control. The fill line on the side is perfect for getting a proper sphere. Flat bottom to silicon allows it to stay upright more easily in freezer, but stopper prevents leaks if it tilts slightly. Fits great in a scotch glass, or in most standard houseware glasses and cups. Only minor complaint is that the resulting ice is 1mm too wide for the mouth of a 40 oz TAL. Run a little water over it to melt the edges before dropping it in, and it's all good. Very happy with purchase.

This is a ease to use. Putting them together was easy. I used the little funnel that was included and it worked well to fill the molds. I love the design as it not too bulky. The ice came out the mold with ease. No leaks were detected. It was a welcome fine to a home bar.

The mold did create an ice sphere so I gave it 3 stars. I bought these because I thought they'd be well sealed, creating a more see-through sphere by eliminating air, but that is not the case. The first sphere released from the mold had hundreds of air pockets and an indent at the top, causing it to float more like boat with a flat top. The second sphere was filled to the max fill line as well, but grew outside the mold, popping the silicone cap off. The sphere had a large chipped crater in in. Maybe im doing something wrong?? The silicone bottom forms really smooth and nicely, but the top half struggled to form without imperfections. Its just ice so, oh well. But I was really hoping for some fancy ice. Slightly disappointed. If the air tightness was better I think the spheres would form more nicely. Not sure.

Works great

These silicone molds are simple to use and make solid, round ice balls that don’t crack apart. The silicone is flexible enough to pop the ice out without fighting it, and the lids keep water from spilling when you move them to the freezer. They freeze clean, don’t leak, and the ice lasts a long time in whiskey or bourbon. Simple, reliable, and work exactly like they should.

These are bigger and excellent for keeping water cool in the heat of summer and adding the extra coldness to a jug of water.
