Anderson’s visionary achievement is the more remarkable because these episodes never seem to age.The aspect ratio BTW is 1.33:1, i.e. 4:3 as in the original 1966 TV series. So for the purists: the picture has not been adapted to fit 21st century widescreen and nothing is cropped.

I first watched this as a nine year old, then again when I introduced it to my son when it was re-run in the 1990s and now I get to watch it all over again in my 60s and having this DVD collection means it’s all ready for the grandchildren. Yes it’s aged a bit but the model work was brilliant in its day and it is still impressive today when you consider how it was done and the limited resources available. The whole feel of the series is just so positive, optimistic and uplifting which makes it the perfect antidote in these pandemic days.

My son bought me the first Thunderbirds collection, knowing how much I loved the programme. However, these now live with me in Italy. My son wanted to watch them so I bought him his own set, at a very good price. It was a surprise and he was very happy to receive it. The more recent Thunderbirds is complete rubbish compared to the original.

Really brings back the memories when this was shown again on TV in the early 1990s. Even though it is 56 years old the effects are still great. My favorite episode was the memorable Attack of the alligators. This is a really good value box set and also includes a preview of the CGI animated series Thunderbirds are go.

Quality family entertainment from half a century ago. Still vibrant and exciting, a little "cheesy" at times, perhaps not as fast moving as today's fare, and with values and violence levels blissfully uncensored by political correctness, it remains unique with its blend of dainty marionettes and noisy industrial hardware. The ultra serious soundtrack, suspense, and action make it never less than thoroughly entertaining. This box set contains plenty of extras which I haven't even begun to watch yet - the shows are too much fun!

The quality of the packaging and the actual product is very good as usual and as you would expectBut ITV are such cheapskates! – they are using the same masters that were used by Carlton Communicationsto create the first DVD release, back in 1999!

Having grown up with Thunderbirds, Stingray and Captain Scarlet I used to love the Gerry Anderson series when I was a kid.I bought these to reminisce and found the storys, effects and characters just as good as I remembered them.The case contains all the DVDs and there's little bonus background stories which was excellent.I'm very happy with this set.

I have always enjoyed watching these programs and as always with any Anderson production excellent story line with great attention to detail delightful entertainment for the young and not so young each story has its own appeal wonderful to be able to see these again brings back many happy childhoods memories many thanks.This was a replacement set as unfortunately one disc got damaged but got a lovely new player from amazon great many thanks to amazon.
