Why is the color light, it has to be dark? real propolis is dark in color

Interesting. The last two propolis products I tried were indeed dark, and both were 500mg extracts with nothing else other than glycerin and water. Maybe someone could expound, not sure there are light-colored propolis extracts (if that's accurate photographic representation).
