Best decision made
I bought this to replace a tortilla press made by my great grandfather, it has been passed down my family, to my mother. My mother is fond of her tortilla press, all the memories and family history makes her very attached to it. The quality over time deteriorated which is I why I looked for a replacement and eventually found this one.I wasn't sure how well my gift would be received but it was worth a try. My mother wasn't happy at first but I convinced her to try it out and she couldn't stop talking about it after the first week, it became her favorite press. The 10 inch oak and wood press is really beautiful. We use it basically on a daily basis, several times a days; almost 1.5 years later it's still standing and with no issues. We've traveled with it, as funny as it may seem, to several states and have had no issues or noticed anything concerning after repeated use.The quality of the press is amazing and we had no issues at all from the day we received it, I recommend without a doubt. Price wise, it does seem a little high at first but for the quality you're receiving makes it worth it in the long run.The size of the press is just right, neither too big or too small; my main concern when purchasing is whether it would be too bulky on the countertop or too small and impractical. Review the sizing before purchasing, make sure it fits your needs and enjoy because you won't regret it.

Very sturdy.
I guess I should’ve known. This particular I am very sturdy and very nice. I purchased it after purchasing two other tortilla presses that fell apart on the first use.Read this in the US is more artist artisan-like, I decided to take a chance. It has heavy duty hinges and works great. Not to mention, the wood is gorgeous. It makes her beautiful peace in the kitchen.

I LOVE this Tortilla Press -10 inch
I love my Hardwood Tortilla Press - Oak & Walnut- 10 inch! It is not only pretty, but has made a long process quick! I can make my tortillas so fast that I keep 2 skillets going at the same time! My husband now refuses to let me purchase tortillas from the store! BUT NEVER MAKE TORTILLAS DIRECTLY ON THE PRESS WITHOUT using plastic or wax paper!!!!! IT is a mess to clean up! I cook up a batch every week! Not only is it beautiful, but it is so easy to work! I use wax paper in between the tortilla's once I have 6 made I start cooking! then I reuse my wax paper & start making more! The sky is the limit! I use Masa flour & all you have to do is add water! If you are unable to take the tortilla off the paper without it breaking than you need to scrap it off and make a larger ball! I use a scale & weigh out my balls. I normally use 60 grams! Put the first wax paper down making sure it is no wider than the press, top & bottom! Press it down! Move it to the side, pull the top piece of paper out put on bottom of the press add another ball, new top sheet, press! put it on top of the previous tortilla! If after you start & if you want a larger tortilla you can toss it in your hand slowly making it larger! Cook over medium heat making sure you don't over cook. Keep your batter covered with a wet cloth so it doesn't dry out! Good luck!

Pleasure to use and well made
First I will say that this press is a pleasure to use. It is also beautiful and well made. But the packaging left a lot to be desired. For how expensive it is I was expecting it to be packaged safely in a product box. Sometimes I like to buy things like this for gifts – I would never buy this for a gift because of the non-existent packaging. It came in a plastic bag, in an Amazon box with no padding. I picked the box up from my porch and you could hear it banging around in the box. You have to hook the handle on yourself, which is easy (except for the fact that the handle was also banging around in the box). It doesn’t come with any instructions. I assume the wood should be maintained by some means so some documentation would have been nice.

Looks great and works well.
Does it's job and looks nice on the counter. I followed the suggestions and used a plastic barrier. It was necessary to keep from sticking g. Would be my only gripe. Sturdy and made for years of use.
