Well-designed Watch
Update at 16 Jan 24. I have had to contact Pininfarina about this watch and while the documentation supplied with the watch gives a contact address of: [email protected], I have found it actually needs to be: [email protected] you know anything about cars then Pininfarina is a name you have heard of. They were originally coachbuilders but became car designers. The founder was one Pinin Farina and some of his designs were known as Farina. While associated with sporting marques he was the stylist for the Austin A40 Farina (not be confused with the A40 Somerset) in the 1960s.There is only a small selection of analogue digital watches to choose from and this one is also a smart watch which is its greatest strength and weakness. Without a linked smartphone you can’t even change the time on it. It comes nicely packaged in a box with the charger unit and a booklet of instructions and a folded sheet quick start guide but without first downloading the app to your phone all you can do is charge the watch. The watch charges very quickly and once you get the hang of the settings and controls it is easy to use them. The most impressive feature for me though is the way the hands automatically shift out of the way of the digital display when you use the features and something manufacturers of much more expensive watches ought to sit up and take notice of. The app functionality is ok but unlike the app for a Garmin does not allow you to edit activities or log calories. So, a good smart watch with analogue (luminous at night) as well as digital features in a nice case and backed by a name with a sporting and comprehensive design pedigree.

Pininfarina Senso hybird smartwatch
This watch came in a really nice box and it was well package. The watch looks amazing and smart. Had to download the app the set up the watch which took a bit of time and a number of tries, but after that it works fine. The smart features of the watch is relatively limited, the watch is better suited for style. It is quite a heavy watch and takes a bit of time getting used to wearing it.

Very impressive, but not practical
Well, this is a hard one to review, because it's a really well made smart watch, that deserves a high price tag. But it's also failing to be a practical smart watch, hence they sacreficed the screen for a traditional look. This one thing doesn't sound like a big deal first, but when you have to use your phone for every feature, that's normally available on fully digital smart watches, than you start asking the question: "What's the point?"I guess this is a smart watch for those, who care more about the looks. But for me, who values practicality, this will not cut it, despite all the quality features that would normally make it superiour to other smart watches.

Pininfarina Senso Hybrid Smartwatch.
I was rather reluctant to start using this, as my wee Vivofit was still doing a good job; my issue was that this Pininfarina is an expensive and very classy-looking timepiece with the fitness features added, while my current item is primarily a fitness device that also tells the time – It's contained in a silicone band and I have no qualms about wearing it to bed, vigorous exercise or (inadvertently) getting it wet – while this is a proper wristwatch, a piece of jewellery. All this became secondary however, when I tried to get it working; intuitive it is not – I couldn't get it to synchronise with the app – it asks for a passkey (suggesting one of those factory defaults 0000 or 1234 – neither of which it accepts) and I can`t find any reference in the instruction booklet to resolve the problem.I was able to adjust the hands to the correct time, but when I inadvertently pressed something else in the menu it reset itself to the wrong time again. It is such a disappointment to find that something as prestigious in name and appearance, beautifully presented in a solid, wooden gift box doesn`t work on such a basic level.I can`t recommend this based on my experience, and my rating reflects this.

Underwhelmed
The watch arrived in a very substantial case. On first inspection, it's a beautiful thing. Quite a heavy watch, which for someone who wears a watch quite loose, it would spin around on the wrist.I had to download the app just to be able to set the time on the analogue face. There were a few problems with connecting initially. I found the app to be not very user friendly. The led screen part is very small.I think I don't love this watch as is it is trying to cover all bases, a smart watch combined with the look of a traditional watch.I'm used to using a smart watch daily which is lightweight on the wrist and an easy to navigate app.I'm a little sad that I can not give it any more than 3 stars as it's a case of style over substance. A lovely looking timepiece with inadequate smart watch function.

Amazing watch, can tell it’s 1st gen
First of all the watch is absolutely stunning, it’s very sleek, a bit thick and heavy yes but the form factor plays a major positive role here.So for looks 5/5 easyIt seems pretty sturdy and battery life if pretty nice, about 10-14 days with relatively active use.The watch software is very intuitive and I found myself effortlessly navigating the watch menus relatively easily, it also has a lot of hidden gems (when you look at step counter/calories/distance the second hand moves according to completed percentage)Cons:- no non Unicode support for message text- app and initial pairing was a bit wonky, a quick restart fixes it- a bit uncomfortable setting the dialsOverall I gave it 5 starts because I think these are easily solved with several software updates and given the fact this watch was only released a couple of months ago I definitely think it’s worth the 400$

Absolutely STUNNING 💖
Jeez, talk about LUXURY.This watch is absolutely STUNNING. Everything from the leather, to the metals used, to the clock hands, to the overall design... ALL of it is so well crafted. This is a beautiful looking watch. The fact it's presented in a sturdy, good quality box also adds to the luxury of this thing. And the fact it's a smart watch too is a fantastic touch. 😌👌⭐I've got it to sync to the app, and it seems to be working well! It's great to have all my fitness and health tracking in one place. As other reviewers have mentioned though, the app could "flow" a bit better. There have been a few occurrences where it went glitchy on me.Overall I'm incredibly happy with this. I think this could make for a fantastic gift too, especially for the Pininfarina fans in your life.

Defective out of the box
Watch looks good but seconds hand was dead out of the box. Return is huge pain in the butt because for some reason, you can only return this to amazon go and it is very far from where I am.

More watch and less fitness tracker/smartwatch⌚
🏃♂️ A fitness tracker for watch enthusiasts who don't want a toy on their wrists. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for fitness trackers and smartwatches, and it's called the gym. However, the main issue is if you're into watches and you want to track your activity and sleep, the options are limited. I own multiple luxury watches and have pictured this watch with some of my most casual watches to show you how well it blends with 'real watches'.Here are some initial thoughts:1. 🌟 🎩 Premium materials: From a premium wooden box to a pleather watch cushion, the watch looks like any other analog watch. The case material is metal, sapphire crystal, a sunburst dial, and a soft genuine leather interchangeable strap. The watch looks premium through and through.2. 🚗 Brand: Pininfarina is a brand with a rich history in automotive design, the choice of materials and design language is evident. They're not a watchmaker though, so the design is heavily inspired by some famous watches, for example, it seems like a splitting image of a Panerai Radiomir chronograph. It is not as dressy and would look good with all kinds of outfits, a true hybrid watch! The watch came 88% charged and took a couple of tries to get connected to my iPhone.3. 🧬 Tech: I think this watch is not intended to be a full-blown fitness tracker or smartwatch. Instead, it seems to be designed for people who are on the fence, and want some basic tracking but don't want a second screen to distract them or look toy-like. In addition to the basic features, the in-app and on-device experience is also not very intuitive and feature-packed. There are some intermittent sync issues as well, so it won't be a watch you will continuously be fidgeting with. It's a type of watch where you'll end up glancing at the app for data at the end of the day or every few days. It has features like vibration for some of the phone's notifications as well.🔮 Final Verdict: Tailored for the niche audience craving fitness features without sacrificing elegance. With UX enhancements, this could be a gem for the style-conscious fitness enthusiast. ⌛🏋️♂️
