Best Stapler EVER!
I first started using this stapler in 2004 when I worked for the Federal government. I had never used a stapler that could actually staple through a large stack of paper. I never counted the sheets, but i know it was a lot more than most staplers could handle. It never jammed. it never broke. It was easy to use. Then I changed agencies in 2008. I took this stapler with me. Then, sniff sniff, it broke. i figured out how to fix it and I gave it to another office worker since I had purchased another one. The new one was different from the old in that a metal part inside the mechanism was replaced with plastic. However, it made no difference. In fact that metal part is what broke on the old one, so I guess the plastic actually works better. The new MAX has worked for 5 years, which is far longer that any other one I've used at home (and which never get as much use or abuse as my work office MAX). Also, I use regular staples with my MAX and they work just fine. You should not have to bother finding special staples.I had a Swingline stapler at home that was pretty good, but it broke after just a couple of years of light use. I just bought the MAX to replace it from Amazon. (So happy to find it.)When i retire, I have asked for only one item to come home with me -- you guessed it, my MAX stapler. I am such a nerd.

World's Best Stapler, Hands Down
I already own one for over the last decade. Needed a second. Does what it says perfectly - flat staples. In summary: excellent, quality construction, superior materials, smooth mechanical design with no jams or misfires, and great price. Highest recommendation.

Max HD-50DFGY Max Flat-Clinch Standard Stapler in Gray is a high quality item and easy to use
I particularly like this type of stapler because it is flat cinch (meaning once an item is stapled, the back side of the staple lies flat against the paper, takes up less space because it's not humped up and doesn't catch on other items), and because the stapler has a very smooth stapling action. I have several of these in different work areas around my home & office and they are a life saver to my hands because it doesn't take a lot of effort to staple and because the flat cinch of stapled items is safer.

Great Stapler!
2ND UPDATE - Going on 2 years of daily use, and I'm so pleased with this stapler :) I visited a client's office last week, and used their Swingline stapler for a day. I was so frustrated...so many smashed staples...didn't matter if it was two pages or 30 pages...never used a staple remover so many times in the recent past :(I went back this week, and took this stapler with me. No problems! What a time-saving little contraption! Love it, and it uses regular standard staples, too.UPDATE - So it's been about a year now, and this stapler is still working well with daily use! When I visit other offices and need to use their staplers (Swingline, Bostich, etc.) there's no comparison to the Max Clinch. I'm throughly satisfied with its performance!ORIGINAL - I've been using this stapler daily for the last 5 months, and am pleased with its performance. I was looking for a flat-clinch stapler for a long time, and originally bought a Stanley Bostitch EZ Squeeze. It didn't staple well, and I even purchased the Bostitch brand staples. Returned that one after 2-weeks, then bought this Max Flat-Clinch. What a huge difference!I'm picky about the staplers I use because I like my papers stapled together neatly and securely. I find that this stapler does a good job whether it's just a few sheets or a stack of invoices. No more loose staples with papers sliding around. No more half-smashed staples with only one side going completely through all the sheets. I can't even recall having to re-staple something because of a stapler malfunction. Just a great everyday stapler!

Mixed review. Love the product but staples are expensive and first stapler broke after six months of use.
Mixed revi0ew. This is my second purchase. The first broke after about six months of relatively heavy use, and I had a good bet invested in the staples (they are far more expensive than regular staples) so I decided to take a chance and buy another one. I won't buy more staples for this until my supply is depleted and this one proves to be durable. That said, it is very easy to use. You don't have to slam your hand on the stapler like I did on my older regular stapler. It really magnifies your effort. The flat clinch staples are truly nicer than standard staples. My wife is a teacher and it is nice that after using this stapler the packets lay pretty much flat. I use it to close paper and mylar coin 2x2's and I used to have to use pliers to flatten the backs of staples so they wouldn't scratch other coins in stacks and boxes. That isn't necessary with this stapler. If this one is more durable than the last it is a five star.
