This is a heavy piece clasp. Not for use in dog leashes.

Used these single snap hooks to secure some freon containers in the back of the truck.

I am constantly using snap hooks for things like holding together sections of x-pens for my dogs. The ones that are supplied with the x-pens are pieces of junk that break or fail quickly. These Brufer snap hooks look and feel much more substantial with a snap mechanism that operates smoothly. Time will tell, especially exposure to the elements, but so far I'm pleased with these.

I used this product to make 3x-15' dog cables with double ended quick release swivel clips (the product). They complimented my 1/4" insulated cables very well.*** After putting this product to the test my German Shepherd mangled one clip within a week. And on a second clip the self retracting portion failed. The metal on these clips is to cheap, soft and ply able. Definitely not for active or aggressive dogs, I would not recommend.I cut these cheap clips off of all the previous dog cables I had used them on and replaced them with good quality stainless steel

The snap hooks appear well made. The spring loaded bolt portion works smoothly, and is not loose or sloppy. The nickel finish is bright and shiny. Hopefully, it will hold up in a continually exposed outdoor use.
