Glasslock 10.5-Cup Rectangle Handy Container

I was pretty excited about finding the glass containers with a handle. After coming back from a trip, I put both containers in the top rack dishwasher. I also put a white cup next to one of the containers in the top rack. The 11.4-Cup glass container shattered like an mini explosion in the dishwasher immediately. I could not believe what I saw. It took me a long time to clean up the dishwasher and the floor. I have not even used the glass container yet. Luckily there was no food in the container. I hand washed the 15-cup glass container and am not sure whether I should keep it. It is scary.

We're almost successfully switched from plastic to glass, stainless steel & silicone. A few years ago, I sat across the dinner table from a woman researching endocrine disruptors in plastics. Making conversation, I mentioned BPA free plastic for young grandsons. No man boobs for them, I said. Without breaking eye contact, she said ALL plastic leaks disruptors as it decays. Heat accelerates the process. Since then, research has trickled out, swamped by political chaos and other distractions. Glasslock products this big are my go-to for broth, soup, and jelly juice.

I was looking for something in a larger size that would be leakproof. This fit the bill. The glass is easy to clean, holds a lot of soup and I have had no issue with leaking. I was hesitant to buy this because of the handle issue mentioned in other reviews. Taking this into consideration, I don't use the handles and pick it up from the sides as I do with my other glassware. Most important for my use was the size and leakproof quality. Because it meets my use needs, I rated it accordingly.

Honestly the size of the container is great for nights I make a pot of soup and I love that! But, the handle is made very poorly. On the second use I took the lid out of the cupboard and the plastic screws that held the handle on were broken. So no handle. I had read reviews and hoped that mine would be different, maybe changed design. If not though I consented that not having a handle would be fine as long as the main lid/container worked and it does. If like me it does not matter if you have a handle, than this works well.... however if you want the handle feature than do not buy. If you try to use the handle it will break. I never used my handle to lift it and it still broke. This item is overpriced though with one of its features unusable.

I wanted to love this product. I do like it, but the handle breaking after a couple of months makes me unhappy. Not only did the handle snap off on one side, but the other side clings tenaciously. I'm trying to take it off today with a set of tin snips. Seriously, how can it be so easy to snap off of one side and then to hold strongly on the other?? Because of reviews on here, I never held it by the handle, always supported it from below, but even with that being the case, it snapped off after being in the dishwasher one day. CHEAP!!The size is excellent. I can put a whole roasted chicken in here. The lid snaps very nicely and is leak proof.

Love the sturdy glass, LOVE that it is REALLY TRULY watertight. Cleaning the gasket and crevice it lies in can be a pain, but I understand you can't get the watertight feature without a gasket, so it comes with the territory. After reading reviews mentioning the handles breaking, I never use the handle to carry the full weight of the container, so never have and never plan to really test that. Flat top does let you stack other things on top which is a good space saver. I've only used mine in the fridge. Haven't tried it in the freezer. Bought mainly to be able to store/transport soups.

This is exactly what I was looking for size, shape and all. From what I can tell it's seems the food stored in this stays fresher longer. I say this because I did leave some food in it that stayed in the fridge for a while longer than I thought it should have been in order for it to be edible. When I opened the lid the food inside didn't smell bad at all. I let it sit on the counter for a while thinking once it warmed up a little the smell might then be revealed. Trust me when I say this was food that under regular circumstances, meaning with other plastic storage bowls, it would have smelled really bad. It didn't smell at all. The bowl is very sturdy, a bit heavy, of course it's glass and the lid seems pretty durable. It locks great, although it does lock great I still tend to hold the container from the bottom as well as using the handle just for my peace of mind. The lid has never just popped off. Yeah, I really like this.

I really liked the container's weight and size until the 3rd use, then one end of a handle broke off the attachment plastic. I would certainly not use the handles to carry a heavy load of food stored in the container.

La utilizo cuando voy a la carnicería y así evitar que me den la carne en bolsas de plástico, está genial su tamaño y que sea de vidrio, se nota muy resistente. Su tapa con asa lo hace cómodo de transportar, aún así lo trato con cuidado. Me parece una muy buena compra ya que no guarda olores como los recipientes de plástico, y en mi caso evitó las bolsas desechables en los establecimientos :)

Muy buena la calidad y aguantador, ideal para la casa ya que es pesado para transportarlo, el tamaño es lo que dice 3.700 ml y el precio justo. Yo cocino cada semana para 5 días y necesito recipientes que me conserven la comida fría, bien sellada y fáciles de lavar sobre todo la grasa. El tamaño es para porciones de 3 o 4 personas. No es para usarlo en el horno ni calentar en la estufa.

My husband favorite style of container brand with the carry handles. Kept on buying the various sizes as per his requests. Waiting for Amazon Canada to bring in the taller size for soups etc as seen on recent Netflix South Korean drama series. That would make him ever happier-lol.

Esta es la segunda ocasión qué lo compro. Es de vidrio como deben de ser los contenedores de comida en lugar de plástico. Sella bien. El asa es de mucha utilidad. Fácil de lavar. Un poco pesado por ser de vidrio, pero lo vale para no impregnar de olores y sabores la comida.

Glass dishes like this are quite heavy and a pain to put in and out of the fridge. These two handles are so sturdy and well built I always feel safe carrying it and using it a lot. Very happy with this purchase. It’s a bit pricy but the quality is well worth the money.
