Outdoor Research Men's Echo Hoodie – Quick Drying Active Hooded Sweatshirt

Ultralight, ultra breathable, love the color. Wore this for a few weeks already & bringing it as my main shirt on my week long backpacking trip. Though the shirt does get wet, as I sweat a lot, it does dry relevantly fast. Though because of how thin & breathable it is, it runs slightly on the colder side.

I love OR products, and this hoodie is no exception. I bought this for a 4-day/3 night rim-to-rim hike of the Grand Canyon. The moisture-wicking and breathability properties were impressive, not to mention how incredibly light this is. It reached 105 degrees at the bottom of the Canyon, and I still felt comfortable with the sleeves down. I also managed to avoid tanning, much less getting a sunburn. I got the XL because I'm usually somewhere between a L and XL. It was a bit baggy, but not by much.

I got this shirt on the recommendation of another hiker who has a few of them and swears by them. I wanted a lightweight shirt with full coverage and this delivers.I actually got the shirt primarily with hiking in mind. I ended up using it frequently during a trip to South America in summer. It's just 4.1 oz for the medium. The material is thin, flowy, and breathable but still protects you fully from the sun. Thumb holes help keep the sleeves down and the hood has a more narrow face opening, meaning more extensive coverage of your most sensitive areas. At 5'7" and 160 lb the medium fits perfectly. I would regularly hand wash and hang dry the shirt and found that it is one of the fastest drying pieces of clothing I own, even in humid environments.The biggest con for which I can't quite give this a five-star review is the material sensitivity. Absolutely keep all Velcro a mile away from this shirt. Don't go bushwhacking; don't rub it up against boulders in the Lemon Squeezer. The fabric loves to snag and produces pulls with great ease. As with many other ultralight camping and hiking fabrics, the trade-off for weight is in relative material weakness.

Everything as described, superb quality

I purchased multiple sizes of this item to check the sizing. I ordered them in the same color, and the sizing is really bizarre. I ordered a Medium and a Large, the Large is so much longer both in arm length and torso length compared to the medium. The material is also thin, which makes sense because it is for warm weather, but I have similar products and materials that provide a much better fit.
