Burpee Organic Tomato and Vegetable Water Soluble Plant Food 6-2-3, 10 oz Box

I used this product along with their time release fertilizer for tomatoes on tomato plants I ordered from Burpee, and I just discovered that all my tomatoes I've been protecting are rotting on the vine due to a soil deficiency. All that work and money for this.

This is not a good fertilizer at all for starting tomatoes. My plants are about 6 weeks old or more now and they are beginning to suffer from phosphorous deficiency. I know this because my leaves are turning purple underneath, and then eventually dying off at such a young age. This is a sign of phosphorous deficiency. This is a 6-2-3. 6 Nitrogen is good to help the plant grow leaves quickly. However 2 I feel is way too low of a level of phosphourous. For seedlings I feel like these numbers should be more equal. a plant needs all 3 to grow, not just a buttload of nitrogen. My other plants are growing okay, i have been using this on herbs. But again i have purple edges on my parsley. Which i also believe to be phosphorus deficiency.

This is a finely powdered organic fertilizer. Like most solid organic fertilizer, it does NOT dissolve in water. It is not water soluble. It swirls around in the water, with the granules being very visible and clearly not dissolving. It’s kind of like a suspension, and the particles will settle out after a short time.Depending on your drip line and drippers, this product may clog them as it did some of mine.

It smells yucky, but I had sprouts the next day after I started using it.

I've been using this for years, and always produces the best quality vegs.

Great stuff! Was nearly religious about it when they were seedlings. I have to be better now that they're outside.

Need to feed them to make them big and juicy.
