bring peace of mind
I decided to get this because I go to work super early and I tend to forget to turn the fan and air filter off in summer time and more dangerously, forget to turn area heaters off during winter time. Even though my neighbor is nice, this is something I cannot ask them to do for me. In order to conserve energy, save on electrical bills and prevent accidents, I decided to purchase two of these to start. I would like the peace of mind of knowing I am able to turn appliances off distantly via my phone. I found out that I am also able to program it to turn on and off more than one set during my sleep as well. I do not have to get up to turn fans off at middle of the night. It can go on and off a few hours. However, I do notice it does not work for my winix air filter since it needs to be manually turned on and off but no big deal, it worked for most appliances I have. Love it so far. It is like attaching a timer to appliances which do not come with one originally. Maybe I need more of these for each room. Even though some said the added neon color ring serves as a night light, it is way too faint for me so do not count on it.

Easy set up and use
This is one of my first smart products in my home, list and one camera and one lightbulb I’m having a lot of fun messing with my kids and turning there’s stuff off I’ve had it for about a month now and I still can’t decide which one I want to keep plugged in, I’ve tried putting it to the Xbox, my lamp, the tv And a couple others, so far I think realistically it’s most helpful for the lamp because I think if I just power other things off without turning them off properly I might shirt short circuit some thing. But it was very easy to set up on my phone as soon as I plugged it in and it works well.

Outlet hog. Unexpected behavior from virtual combo device
(Updated 12/12/2020) Disregard my previous posting(s), please.DISLIKE: Too d**n big to allow 2 sockets to be installed in any 1-gang or 2-gang duplex receptacle.MINOR Confusion: The nightlight cannot be set to a color-temperature by any means that I have found. Asking Alexa to set the nightlight color to Daylight white, Warm white, Soft white, Cool white will yield a success chime, but no color change. Assigning one of the Alexa colors such as Lemon Chiffon or Ivory works OK. The SmartLife app shows a color wheel to adjust the nightlight, but one must adjust a slider called 'temperature' to 0% to make the bulb white. This is a misnomer, and the slider is actually the 'saturation' control. Lost in translation. Didn't figure that one out right away... Color temperature is not expressed in percent, anyway.INFO: Unit discovers as 3 separate devices: a Light called "LED name" by default (the nightlight), a Switch called "switch name" by default (the socket), and a virtual "light" with the user's name assigned at discovery that addresses both the nightlight and the socket as one. Any command from Alexa for this device will be applied to both.BUG! BEWARE: The combined nightlight/socket function is reported/listed as device type "light" in Alexa and cannot be edited. Alexa will therefore include the socket/nightlight combo device in any utterance to "all lights", which will affect the power to the socket. I.e.; If you happen to have a benchtop power strip hooked to the socket to power a laptop charger and some general purpose test equipment (o'scope, DMM), your TE and charger will go dark when Alexa is told, "All lights off." Found this out the hard way. :-/WORKAROUND: Go to the device list in the Alexa app and Disable the combo "light" device. Leave the separate Light and Switch devices enabled. The nightlight will still respond in an "all lights" operation, the socket will not be affected.

Skip It
This product failed after 10 days. It no longer powers up and nothing connected to it get any power. I even plugged it in a Kill A Watt power meter to verify if it was pulling any power. And guess what... completely dead.Skip this one and get something else.RGB lights were nice though..

seamless interaction via Google home
The media could not be loaded. [Pre-disclaimer]I feel irritaged by amazon comment reviewer who rejected my first comment. I read all guidlines and believing I make appropriate comment on how the product works. If this time rejected, I'd only assume only who use alexa can post "approrpriate" comments, google home users are not welcomed.[Comment] Let's come to the final *approriate* comment: the smart plug is now serving as a vocal controller of my lamp (refer to video 1). the official app enables users to control led color and intensity while in google home (or any other 3rd party platform), only intensity is adjustable. The purpose I did this is simple --- wake me up with light in the morning, which is based on google home's timer function. ("hey google, turn on XXXX at 8 tomorrow morning")[Bonus] technically, the remote control is relied on smart life app, which is modified by my manufactures, if you have purchased products from other companies, just install one smart life variant is okay. (They both relied on the original platform and database).Hope this time, my comment is reviewed as appropriate.

Super cool item!
My wife asked for it for several weeks and I finally bought it last week. I have to say this small item is really cool and stable! It is very easy to set up and has a lot of features such as a night light and party light. Also, you can set timers for the switch as well as the circle light on itself. I never imagine it has this function.Great gift for girlfriend and kids!

Barely last for 6 month.
It broke within 6 month. It is easy to set up and nice to have connect to Google or Alexa. Took me probably 3 mins. However, it stop working one day out of the blue. Might want to try a different brand.
