Beverage Air 401-657B Lift Off Chrome Hinge Assembly

These were so easy to change out on my coolers!

I replaced the hinges on a reach in cooler that was custom built and very old so I could not find a brand or an exact fit. The extra screw holes in these hinges made them very sturdy even though they were not correct for the unit I put them on. I only wish they came with installation hardware I.E. screws.

It took me a lil bit to figure out how to install the extra pieces that came with it .. boy that was a life saver for balancing the fridge door .. I put the extra metal pieces behind the hinges and got the door balanced and self closing like a champ

The first picture shows the bag that each of the four hinges I bought came in. Beverage Air doesn't use this type of packaging for their oem products.The second picture shows one of the hinges I removed that has the hinge manufacturers part number cast into it against the new hinge body.The biggest problem is that the cam (that's the white plastic piece) doesn't seat properly on all four of the replacement hinges. The reason it doesn't is because at the bottom of the hole the cam fits in, there is a tiny wall between the main body and the bearing mount. It's about 1/8 inch high and stops the cam from seating. You have to notch the bottom of the cam to get it to seat.This will be a problem in the future when whoever has to replace the cams doesn't know the they have to be notched.
