These are lovely. Very solid. Wonderful for my oolong tea. Found them at a great price also.

I enjoy the smaller size. It is perfect to get a small portion so my drink is hot until I get to the bottom of the tea pot. The sides do get hot, but that should be expected.

My husband and I are total tea hounds, so we like having cute cups around for enjoying a pot after dinner or in the morning. That said, my husband absolutely raved about another set of Japanese-style teacups I bought a while back, so I jumped at the chance to add these to our collection, as well. These are absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful, colorful pattern to the glaze on the inner part of the cup. The ridged texturing also adds a touch of elegance, as well as makes the cups easier to hold. They came in a very nice gift-style box, too, so these would be great for giving to someone else for just about any occasion. The one minor complaint I have is that our teacups actually experienced a phenomenon known as crazing when we used them for the first time. This can happen with glazed ceramics sometimes when the thermal expansion capabilities of the glaze are different from that of the underlying ceramic. By this, I mean the cups made periodic pinging sounds, starting when we filled them with hot tea for the first time. And they continued to make the sounds as we drank and enjoyed our tea, as well as for a little while afterward. When I double-checked the cups after finishing, they had indeed developed crazing lines in the glaze along the insides of the cups due to the heat of the tea. And we experienced this with all four cups. The crazing doesn't make the cups unusable, and we will still very much enjoy using these. It doesn't ruin the beauty of the cups, either, as I doubt I even would have noticed it if I hadn't heard the sounds. And I get that this is also something that can occur from time to time, especially with artisan or hand-made ceramics. But it's something to be aware of if you're thinking of purchasing these.

They are so pretty, exactly as the picture described. I am very happy with them.
