Bought this for outdoor Christmas lightsReal easy to set up and once plugged in it worked just like the directions said it would. Set it and forgeet it. It was plugged into an outlet close to the front door fairly sheilded from the weather, but it did withstand getting damp during the few windy rain storms we did have. I did not attempt to pair the remote, but the direction for doing that were clear and straightforward

Great for our holiday lights. One caution that brought my rating down a bit: The timer works fine. However it came in a box that was not shrink wrapped or taped, which made me suspect the item was not brand new. Inside was the timer and a loose, older looking battery, unwrapped, no packaging, and not installed. I installed the it in the remote, but after numerous attempts it failed to pair with the unit. I suspected the battery was dead. Since I didn't have a correct one on hand, I bought some new ones via amazon to test it. With a new battery installed the remote paired on the first try. A number of issues here, but bottom line: since I ordered a new timer, I expected it to work without having to go to additional trouble or expense. Credit to Amazon - they reimbursed me the cost of the new battery.

Huge saver for my string lights with the remote. It is a little bulky design. Could have been a little more minimalistic.

This has dawn/dusk, timed settings and simple on/off. These choices allow many uses. Ideal for roof Christmas lights and well made

Would only work in the on/off position not in any of the timer positions. Needed this for an outdoor Xmas display. What a disappointment and an unnecessary waste of time. First, it's not like this is a sophisticated piece of electronics. Photo cells have been around for over a decade. There's no excuse why this shouldn't work correctly.Secondly, had the China factory that manufactured this exercised better quality control and inspections, this never would have made it off the assembly line. No excuse for this garbage to exist other than laziness or apathy or both. The cost for a higher inspection level would be less than dealing with all the defective returns and the impact of negative reviews on sales.Avoid this at all costs and send the China factory a clear message that we won't accept their garbage.
