Simpler Homeplugs
I got these to add to an existing pair. They really were easy to set up once I got the hang of keeping the switch pushed down for the right time (a few seconds only). They work brilliantly in my very old house where wireless is somewhat patchy. I wish I had got on to this technology a couple of years ago - it would have saved pounds and a lot of frustration laying yards of ethernet cable around the house. They are ideal for static devices. I guess if you like roaming round with a laptop they may be less so, but then you can always plug in to a nearby mains socket. I suspect however that most people, like me, tend to work from a particular station or stations at home in which case they work extremely well.I have no idea how they get on with other similar devices, although some people do say you can mix them. They are more pricey than some, but have the advantage of being able to continue to use the mains socket, and are well designed, in that the ethernet bit projects upwards, making it easier to use at floor level. I am happy to pay a bit more for computer stuff that just works without too much a.....ing around.

Mediocre now - but took time to get it right!
I LOVED the idea of this, but it hasn't worked very well in my house. Initially I had these set up and they were working very intermittently. I seemed to spend about 20 minutes every hour or so trying to make these connect. I will say the best guide to getting these to connect is high up on the reviews - look it up and you will save a lot of time.I think my main issue was my electrics which aren't too old, but aren't the most recent. I have somewhat solved the issue by changing the outlet I had the broadcasting plug attached to. Unfortunately there are still a few cut outs, but for the most part this is working and allowing me to stream Netflix to my Samsung TV.From my experience these are my top tips.1) look up the lining procedure in these Amazon reviews - much better than their manual)2) should your connection keep cutting out try a new outlet if at all possible3) consider other work arounds if at all possible as this is not a perfect solution.

Does exactly what it says in the heading
For a year, a pair of these routers has done an excellent job of connecting my BT vision box to the wireless hub in the next room and so I decided to expand the range of the wifi network.Within five minutes of arrival, I had connected one of these new adaptors to the network - and it was working perfectly. Admittedly it then took me another two hours to get the second router working, but I can't blame Simpler Networks for that...

Useless.
One of the plugs stopped working after a week, the other one connected for two weeks, to my existing plugs, and now will not re-connect, despite numerous attempts, resets, etc. A waste of money.

There's probably better
I'm no fan of powerline plugs, preferring to properly patch in some decent cat 9 with a switch to handle traffic, however I thought I would try a pair of these in a location where wireless was currently the only reasonable option. They are easy to set up, however performance was very poor, 20 M tops, when plugged directly into the socket, compared with 60 M via wireless (that's though solid walls, cabling, desk and tower!). They ran for 24 hours before we lost all internet, and even local LAN access. They appeared to be causing some sort of broadcast storm like behavior, not sure how as there is no loop, but they certainly took out an extended star gig speed network. i reset them, re plugged, and 5 minutes later they did it again. i've done a bit of testing, and this seems totally random. I do run a complex architecture with multiple switches, AP's and servers, but that shouldn't be an issue for these, which basically are a form of repeater using the mains line.I'm sure there are better out there, but I would advise using these with caution, I don't think they mix well with anything beyond a basic router/modem - host connection, and a very very simplistic network set up!

Pleased to have found these.
Was pleased to get these to extend our home network which is already based on 2 of these ex-BT gizmos, useful in particular to be able to run a slave homehub upstairs to improve WiFi coverage. Doubtless other Powerlines would have done the job, but this way there were never going to be any compatibility problems. And plug-through is the only way to go, so practical.
