SUMITOMO Ice Edge Studable-Winter Radial Tire - 195/60R15 88T

My summer tires are Sumitomo brand tires, so I've grown to trust this brand. I don't believe in garage kept vehicle. Cars were meant to be driven. I got a spare set of wheels that i had these tires mounted on, and the difference is night and day. Granted I had summer tires before, but my car is rear wheel drive and very light, with virtually all of the weight on the front wheels. Without any sandbags or other type of wieght added over the rear axle, i was able to drive beautifully through 8 inches of snow in an unploughed driveway. No slipping, no sliding, stopping, going, and turning just as reliably as in summer. Ice covered roads didn't make a difference. My car has no ABS or traction control. Got these a year ago and didn't get much snow last winter, but the first big snowstorm of this season just befell us and lemme tell ya: These tires rock.I have them on a 2000 Volvo S70 FWD sedan, and have trundled down completely unplowed roads with about 10" of both powdery and wet/heavy snow with the utmost confidence. If I take on a snow drift that's a little too high and the car plows to a halt, putting it in reverse and backing out is all that's needed to un-stick the car. I've passed a few trucks and SUVs that were stuck on an unplowed, uphill grade that this car with these tires was able to easily ascend both with and without a running start.Cheap and VERY good at their intended purpose. They didn't have the size from my little truck so I had to take a size down which actually makes it look kind of cool. These things really do grip well I put them on all four wheels even though my truck is 2 wheel drive because steering is just as important as traction. I haven't had them studded yet and may not depending on the weather. Good product, well worth the price. Fast delivery as well.

My car was struggling to get around on reasonable condition all season tires. Thought it might have been my car since i drive a small hyundai. As soon as i put these on it was night and day. Drove in/through everything last winter with no issues. Reasonably priced as well.

I bought 2 of these tires for the front of my Volvo 850. Currently, there are 2 worn-out winter tires in the back, but the way the new tires in the front stay hooked to the road is insane. I can keep my speed around corners than anyone with awd/4wd and all seasons. Very few people buy winter tires around here and my car has to be one of the best handling and its front-wheel drive. Next year I will probably buy 2 more of these tires for the rear they are great. I can hold onto snow-covered corners at 50-55+ mph and then the rears start slipping out. The function to cost ratio is fantastic here.

These with studs are an excellent tire.Like most snow, studded they have very deep tread. I studded them right after mounting and then balanced with very little weights needed. Nice on the ice.

I have installed the tire on a vehicle under restoration, so I have no road experience. However, tread pattern and beefiness of the tire seem great.
