Erdtmanns Summer Wild Bird Food in a Tub, 5 Kg

Mrs Dunnock here, I was kindly asked to review this birdseed on behalf of myself and the other birds that frequent this nice man's garden....🐥We like it for it's wide variety of seeds and dried fruit pieces. We particularly enjoy the black Sunflower Seeds best. It is very good value - 5kg for under £9. (The kind man left us a small note explaining this).This food is also enjoyed by the following guest visitors to the garden:Professor Yaffles - a Jay,🐦Young Sir - a Robin, 🐤The Magpie Clan - crafty as they are!🐣The Collared Doves - but lately there's one male whose become increasing aggressive - a bit frightening to see for someone as small as me!Mabel - the Squirrel 🐿Finally, we have a small Common Mouse family that come and go...they find this seed mix hearty and healthy fare that nourishes them. 🐀We enjoy having a nice drink of fresh clean water out if the 3 bowls the kind man leaves out for us daily too. I was looking for a good qulaity bird food at a reasonable price, in a good container too, as the last 2 sacks I had stored in my shed were eaten into by mice, and that was at the rear of the sack so the mice had had a good feed before I discovered they had eaten it.I know the container might be the last thing on other peoples mind, but because of that experience and the fact I have problems picking heavy things up now, the handle was also most welcome.The birds just LOVE this bird seed and we now seem to have a greater variety of birds now. the pigeons also appreciate the food dropped on the floor by the small birds, and they keep the garden tidy by eating it all up.Price wise it isn't the cheapest or most expensive, so a good compromise there, basically good value for money !

This is a very good mix offering seed for a large variety of the birds that visit my garden.I had looked for a way of contacting the Amazon before writing this review but couldn't find one.As shown, it comes in a tub, unfortunately for me the lid was smashed and upside down in the box so a lot of the seed had fallen out and some was lost. the courier pointed it out on delivery because he had seed in his van and was willing to take it back, but I needed it. I have taken photo's of the damaged packaging and seed loose in the box that the tub was in.However, this was just unlucky I think and I will be buying again because the product is good.

all looks good, cannot describe flavour as i am not a lover of wild bird food, i dropped 1 star as the box it arrived in had been opened AGAIN, and i think it is to see what is inside, nothing of value and so left like that a damaged box on my inner doorstep, just glad it was not glassware or some precious gold or silver, as i say see through bird seed container is all fine, box had been opened.

Box is useful and reasonably robust so hopefully should last a few refills. The mix is decent, a good even blend of nuts and seeds, and not an excessive amount of filler. As usual my Jackdaws and Pigeons love it but I'm also seeing a return of some smaller birds after switching from a cheaper supermarket product.

Seems really good quality compared to cheaper brands. Happy with it and so it seems are the birds. Useful tub for storage and recycling for refills compared to packs which can't be resealed. Good delivery time and appreciated the communication from the seller. Note - can't comment on the flavour and the birds aren't talking!

Have purchased a number of times now, the birds still seem very keen on it

The birds have gone mad for these!! I have gone through 70 fat balls in 4 weeks. A bit quieter now that the baby birds have flown, but still getting birds on the garden fighting over them. I also break them up and place on the bird table.
