Hoover Floormate Edge Hard Floor Cleaner, FH40190

I have hardwood, tile and linoleum floors. I can't stand mopping with dirty water from a bucket..but what are you going to do..change the water after each pass. This product uses clean water for each pass, scrubs and then totally sucks up the dirty water. Floor is dry! It is lightweight and easy to clean. I wish I had thought to purchase this years ago!

I love that it sucks up the dirty water into a separate container so my hands never touch a dirty mop head or bucket and my white tile floors really look brighter. It would have gotten 5 stars if the brush bristles were a little longer so they could scrub better, but 4 stars because clean water sprays out and the dirty water gets sucked up, it really works.

To provide a further update after using for awhile I have to drop my rating even lower. I would never purchae this again, as a matter of fact I wish I had never purchased this unit. I wish I would have stuck with the Floor mats Deluxe, it was way better than this pile of garbage. Please do not buy this, get the Floormate Deluxe instead.I previously had the Floormate Deluxe, so I am rating this Floormate Edge against that. The smaller tanks are a real drawback. Have to empty the dirty water tank twice as often. Not good for large floor areas. This unit doesn't dispense the cleaning water very well at all. I have to basically hold the trigger for tough dirty spots in order to get any kind of decent water out of it. This Floormate Edge also feels like it is built a lot cheaper than the Deluxe model. To me it works, it does the job but I can't say I like this all that much. Compared to the Deluxe model I wouldn't buy this Edge model again. I would opt for the Deluxe without a second thought.

I've had 2 Floormates in the past (the motor only seems to last a few years) and was fairly happy with them. But this new model isn't very good. The brushes are much softer than before, and the speed of the brushes is much slower. Therefore its not nearly as effective. For the price its ok enough to keep, but when the motor goes on this one (which it will), I'll spend a bit more and get a Brissell Crosswave instead.I can't speak to the longevity of this model as its a recent purchase.

I purchased this one for my mom. I have had one for approximately 4 years. I love it! We have hardwood, laminate hardwood, and vinyl floors. It scrubs the floors and sucks up the dirty water. Great for wood flooring, it cleans between the boards. I have RA and Osteoarthritis, this makes it easier and faster.

Hurricane Harvey took my original FloorMate. I loved it for my hardwood floors! I am starting over in a house with 12” tile floors so ordered a new one. It still does an outstanding job on the tile surface but the bristles aren’t long enough to scrub the grout.

I’ve had three of these over the years. I bought this one for my daughter. I bought a very expensive rug doctor that was supposed to do rugs and hard floors but it can’t hold a candle to this. It’s the best small appliance or cleaning tool I’ve ever owned.

Finally Amazon allowed me to leave a "star" review. I have owned several similar Hoover products. New with this one is the ability to pinch two plastic pieces and remove the cleaning head...a very BIG improvement over previous models; I LOVE this feature. However the brushes are too soft, too high in the cleaning head, and spin too slowly.I had already decided to leave a bad review because the machine just was not cleaning my tile. Then this happened: dirty feet walked across my clean, wet floor. Basically dirty water was sitting on top of my tile. It took an unbelievable 30 SECONDS to suck up this wet footprint.I hope I received a defective unit because if this is normal, I am done with Hoover.
