Sturdy & speedy data cable for an external SSD
Wow! So I have an M2 MacBook Pro and a 1TB LaCie portable SSD with a USB-C connection. I'm a creative and work with - and hoard - a lot of large files. I also game, so the SSD houses my game library as well. For awhile I've been having trouble with my external SSD disk randomly ejecting and I noticed the original cable is wobbly, so I grabbed the nearest USB-C cable. What used to feel like a breeze in terms of navigating my files and swapping them around, now felt like an awful, punishing slog. Finally, I contacted support for the drive to make sure I understand the specs of the cable needed and if I can make an upgrade as they don't offer or sell replacements. You can see the results in the screenshots - the standard Apple braided cable did the worst (and is the source of the punishing slog), although it is intended as a charging cable. The original LaCie USB-C (3.1 I believe) cable did marginally better. The UseBean Thunderbolt cable blew both of them out of the water!I knew Thunderbolt would improve performance, but I wasn't entirely clear on compatibility. Super glad I took the chance, hopefully this encourages any in a similar predicament. The cable itself appears very sturdy, and comes with a good quality velcro hook and loop strap to secure it.Note on the test parameters: I used AJA Systems Test Lite for the test with default parameters, as I was interested in comparing the cables against each other rather than in any specific conditions. But if it's useful, the settings were as follows:1920x1080 HD-1080i resolution1GB test file10-bit YUV codec'Settings' on defaultHope this helps.

Excellent, premium USB4 cable
This cable has great build quality. The strain relievers work well. The cable is stiff and is relatively thick compared to other braided USB cables I have. It holds its shape when straightened or bent.As a USB4 cable, it’s future-proof and backwards-compatible.It came with a velcro cable tidy, which is a handy addition.I can’t check the exact charging and data speed, but my Google Pixel phone says charging rapidly when plugged into a fast charger using this cable, which indicates that the cable does allow fast charging. The connection is stable when I transfer data using this cable.Overall, I think it’s great.

fast cable (especially reads), robust, good charging levels, good value. Write speeds slow-ish
PROS-pretty fast cable when reading (but not when writing, please see NOTES)-passed 54W to my highest draw device (a battery that will take 100W of PD input)-good value (at the time of this review, it is listed at £13.99 with a 20% voucher)-very robust cable: braided sheath and good strain reliefCONS-quite stiff, for such a short cable. Can be awkward when connecting two devices.-write speeds slower than they should beNOTES-I had trouble getting consistent speeds during read/write tests, but (usually) I got read tests in the area of around 3050MB/s (which is within the USB4 standard), but read speeds are strangely slow, at only 700-1000MB/s (the NVME drive I’m testing with (in a Thunderbolt 4 enclosure), will happily write around 1500MB/s with other cables.-its own e-marker chip reports this cable as a USB4 Gen3 cable-I can’t call it a CON, because I ordered knowing this, but this is a very short cable, and is very stiff. Makes it awkward to connect two devices, unless they are not too close to each other (the cable doesn’t have to bend much)MY STAR RATINGS:1* substandard, mostly cons2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

The only cable that worked!
This UseBean 240W USB 4 1FT cable was the only one that actually worked with my M2 MacBook Pro 16-inch laptop. All other cables were not fast enough for the Mac M2 technology. This cable lets my Samsung Portable SSD T5 drive mount and transfer super fast 40Gb/s data. Other cords, including the one that came with the drive, would not even mount nor work. This one is perfect!

Short cable, perfect for portable monitors
I ordered this cable to allow me a little bit more distance for my portable monitor. I've got a 6" cable that works well in some cases, but there are times that extra 6" makes a difference. That said, the cable works perfectly for what I'm using it for, gives me a little more space, and packs away pretty easily.Overall, I cannot suggest it enough if you're looking for something shorter than 3 ft, but longer than 6 inches.

Top Kabel
