the length is ok until you wash it. my hubby is pretty beefy and needs extra length so his stomach doesnt show when he raises his arms. the quality of this fabric is thick and wont be doable for someone who works outside the sun. BUT if a thick shirt is what you're wanting, this will work for you. however, I purchased these in 3xlt and they dont fit him once they were washed. I even dried them on low heat to minimize shrinking. the shrinking is the reason for the low rating.

The hems on the sleeves and waist roll on themselves if dried in a dryer, even on low. No amount of ironing got them to behave.

Purchased 3X for my guy, he is 5’8” and weighs 265lbs, he complained about his shirts always coming up and showing his belly or bottom off. These shirts fit him perfectly and are heavyweight, might be too heavy for summertime (they come down to the bottom of his butt, so will fit someone taller without a problem)
