Bobby Dazzler's Make Your Own Misfits: 35 Unique and Quirky Sewn Creatures

I have been wanting to make stuffed animals for the grandbabies for awhile now. I've looked many times at the regular pattern books for teddies and bunnies and whatnot, but something was always missing. When this popped up on an Amazon search for stuffed animal patterns recently, I knew I had finally found what had been missing. I LOVE THIS BOOK AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. There really are no "rules" and perhaps that is what was keeping me from going ahead with the other "normal" patterns. This book takes the rules, gives them a glance, then shreds them to use as stuffing for their happy and super-cute designs. I riffed off one of their designs to come up with my own, I guess I just needed the inspiration. The result was homely and misfit for sure, but pulled at the heartstrings of all but one of my friends. She said, "I never knew anyone to make a misfit toy ON PURPOSE." Well, sure, some people only like pictures that are colored inside the lines. But if you think lines are just suggestions, this is for you!Warning: if you don't know how to sew at all, this will not be the best book for you. Everything is pretty well free-form in here and much more inspiration than actual tutorial. There are cut out pattern diagrams, but you make your own patterns from these, you don't cut out theirs and use them. Though I suppose you could do that and just enlarge them on a copier...but instead just grab an old Tshirt and get cutting. It's fun and the kids will love whatever you end up with. And so will you.

This book is really fun. The animals are typical but atypical enough to be interesting and fun. The patterns are easy and I have used them to help teach younger children to do basic sewing stitches. For some reason, people really like getting these guys as gifts and they are basic enough to allow you to embellish or add to (several of mine got wires in the arms and legs to make them poseable.)Fun book!!!

Fabulous Plushie book, the only downside is that the pattern templates have to be enlarged on a photocopier. However, the book has templates for 35 unique Plushie toys which is a bargain. And the book has templates, some plushie/sock toy books only have cutting directions without templates. A variety of skill levels to keep any sewer happy. And more advanced sewers can interchange pattern templates to create their own unique designs. Worth every penny for those who like oddball plushie toys.

I researched this book (read while standing in line at a Michael's Craft store) and thought it would be a good gift for a creative friend. I was right (she adored it) and the price on Amazon was 20% less expensive and was delivered to her door right on time.

Weird and wonderful animals designed to be made out of old clothes. I rather liked some of them notably the worms and slug and the cute cat and bat. Others are a bit too odd for words such as the most unhorselike horse I've ever seen. Some are easily distinguishable but they've been 'tweaked' to make them a misfit such as the koala with long dangly legs!This would be a great book for a school sewing class; perhaps less inspiring for an adult toymaker.

Easy to make and enjoy the process. I love these critters.

I got this as a gift and it has alot of good ideas for easy crafts. this was a good buy

I got this for my daughter who I learning to sew and make things. She loves it and has already made a couple of items.

人気のボビーダズラーの作り方が載っていて嬉しい。そして、ぬいぐるみを作るのに、あまり細かく考えずに作ってみても良いなと思える本でした。

図面が詳しく載っていました。縫い方は手慣れた人なら分かるのでは無いかと思います。ただ初心者には少しむず悪しいかな。私は眺めるために買っているので、気に入っています。

A wonderful book with a simple approach and a philosophy that means it doesn't have to be perfect - it's just great having a go. My daughter loves me getting this book out and we spend an afternoon making a couple of the characters. We now have a whole load and the dolls house looks a bit different with them all in. I've not made any reviews before but as this is such a great book to use, I thought I'd let everyone know how great it is. What I like is how the instructions are so simple to follow. The old clothes that get stains or the kids grow out of now get recycled for these characters and they look really effective - the more the colours contrast the better.

見たらすぐ作りたくなります。本を見るだけで幸せな気分になります。^_^
