Season of Magic: Holiday Box Set Review: Fantastic set of stories that entertain especially during the holidays. - Very good group of books and it offers you a variety of johras. Each of the stores were warm, entertaining and romantic. Others have described each of the stories in detail so to learn more details please read their opinions. I enjoyed each story and no two of the stories were alike. Each author brought her own style and the type of romance has its own appeal and each book kept my attention. There is also humor, suspense and some intrigue. I'm very glad I got this set and I will follow each of the authors so I can read more of each author's books. Review: Nice Christmas Romances - 1 Noel Noel Noel Noelle was visiting the mall after all her gifts were bought when Chase walked up and ask to sit down. Noelle’s ex had just broken up with her for another woman and Noelle was off men. Chase had a secret that caused him to move out of town after high school. To find love, they must trust their hearts to each other. 2 A Cinderella Christmas Jessica’s girlfriends take her to see a gypsy fortuneteller. The fortuneteller says Jessica will meet her true love and then will hear a bell ring. Of course Jessica doesn’t believe in it. Then, she goes to a shoe sale and ends up in an elevator with an old woman and a cute guy, Steve. The elevator gets stuck in between floors and the old lady gets them to tell their secrets. She and Steve start to fall for each other, but when the old lady and the elevator disappear Jessica runs. Steve delivers her shoes and asks her out. 3 Matchmaker-Matchmaker Molly is the youngest of the 3 girls when her father takes off right before the holidays. Molly doesn’t trust men and has Tillie, a spirit, assigned to help her find love. Molly’s mother and 2 sisters are always trying to set her up. Meanwhile, Ben runs his own antique shop and fixes furniture in his shop. Molly, while on a walk from her shift from a nursing job, finds a (magic) blue feather and sees a robbery in progress when she meets Ben, also observing. Ben misses his family and agrees to run interference for her and Molly will go with him to his business parties; both helping each other out, platonically. 4 Holiday Disaster Michelle dropped her contact down drain and when the maintenance man showed up he was wearing a suit. The pipe leaked and his suit got wet. Then, things went from bad to worse when the garbage disposal broke and, last but not least, the toilet broke. Michelle went to return his dress shirt just to find that there were 3 of them. Among them, Nick just wanted to meet her so came to fix her stuff for his brother and Patrick who was just annoyed at her. 5 The Yuletide Bride Dowager Duchess, and queen of all is Robert’s mother and grandmother to Stuart. Dowager made a rule that young Stuart must marry before the holiday or both father and son will lose their title and their money. Stuart is a playboy and rides with Roxanne, but doesn’t wish to marry her. Roxanne wants to marry Stuart. Dowager had a ball and invited all the young girls in the neighborhood. At the ball Stuart saw Brianna and fell in love. Brianna likes to hunt and shoot like a guy.

The majority of these stories are a sweet, simple read that I enjoyed
The majority of these stories are a sweet, simple read that I enjoyed. However, The Yuletide Bride by Gerri Brousseau was totally ridiculous. The first thing an author should do when writing a period romance is to make herself familiar with that time period. The opening stated that the story took place in the 1700s. So many things were wrong with this story. The family had a decorated Christmas tree even though the first Christmas trees didn't show up in England until the 1830s and didn't become popular until Queen Victoria brought them to the palace. Also, waltzes were being played at the ball, even though waltzing was considered scandalous in the early 1800s. And, I never could understand how the DOWAGER Duchess could threaten to strip her grandson's title from him when his father the Duke was still living. That is just a few of the things that were wrong with this story. Skip it and read the others in the collection and you will be fine.

Highly recommend!!!!
I recently purchased Season of Magic, and was very happily surprised by the 'feel good' stories. I personally loved, Matchmaker, Matchmaker. I could relate to the characters and throughly enjoyed the mystLly aspects. I am a fan of 'happy endings, involving a possibility of something magically. I highly recommend readers to pick this collection of holiday stories up.

All good, standalone shorts
For me, the problem with themed collections is redundancy. I get bored before finishing when storylines are too similar. That wasn't a problem with this anthology, however. It is a good mix and a great value. 1. Noel Noel Noel, by Merry Holly (aka Marian Lanouette) A good short, humorous, standalone romance. 2. A Cinderella Christmas, by Cara Marsi. A very short, sweet, whimsical romance. 3. Matchmaker-Matchmaker, by Bobbi Lerman. Geez Louise, a great short with a hint of a follow-up. 4. Holiday Disaster, by Vicki Batman. Ah-choo!! Or how to share a cold. A cute short. 5. Yuletide Bride, by Gerri Brousseau. A good historical blend of Scottish, Irish and English, with a faux fatal attraction twist.

A great set of romantic stories.
I totally enjoyed this selection of love stories. The different settings, time frames and plots were fantastic. I could not set the box set down. The introduction of a bit of magic or just the wisdom of the older generation was delightful. I thank the generosity of these author's and encourage romanticism to enjoy this feast.

Hallmark
Well, not exactly Hallmark. Not clean, and definitely quick to get physical. Easy reads for a romance fix. If only guys existed like the main male characters!
