Game Changer!
I finally tried this on my last back packing trip, instead of my hand pump Boston Fortis filter and this changed the whole experience.I used to have to supply water to the whole group with a hand pump for breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. As you can imagine, that's at least a solid hour of pumping per day. NOT FUN!Instead, I brought this filter and a collapsible 5 gallon jug. Set it and forget it! Now you can work on fire, setting up shelter, collecting wood and the water gets itself ready. Next thing you know, you have several gallons of water ready for all your cooking and camping needs. One thing that should come wih the filter and does not, is a syringe. I definitely recommend buying one to back flush the filter periodically when the flow slows. This only happened after about ten gallons, but itwas still usable without the back flush. It just took twice as long.

Felt filters clog quickly.
Used this on a wilderness trip to have water in camp so my kids didn't have to make trips with my hand pump filter to the lake. The filter worked great for the first refill, but the felt filter clogged and slowed the flow rate to near nothing. I went through the felt filters on the first trip. Our water source was a high country lake with no turbidity. Other than that, the filter provided us clean water throughout our trip. I will be purchasing the other modules to have a complete system for metals removal.

Bad connections
First I didn't receive a rubber ring with my initial order, which I needed to keep the water seal at one of the connections to the filter. So I'm glad I tested it before bringing it out to use. I messaged the seller and had another one sent to me. Then I used the product once using the bag reservoir and filter. Very slow flow rate, and periodically back-flushing it didn't help much. Then, before bringing it camping for only the second time, I tried screwing the filter on to a water bottle and that did not work properly. Water kept leaking out from the threads and wouldn't actually go through the filter. So I kept tightening it and it got really stuck to the water bottle, even though it was still leaking. So again... I'm glad I tested that before putting it to use. When getting it off I bent the Pre-28 Connection so now the entire filter is useless to me.Not satisfied with the product, I wish I originally went with a Katadyn or Sawyer option instead.

No instructions?
Seems to have worked well (no one got sick). Had no instructions though and came with little filters and no clue what to do with them. Also leaked a bit and had a continuous drip.

Good system.
We used this extensively over 5 day camping trip where all water must be filtered or boiled. Probably ran over 100 liters through it. I liked that we could set it up to gravity feed into another water bladder and then go about other camp chores. I really liked the detachable hose. The hose attach point has a shutoff valve making it easy to go get more water. I didn’t like it that it needed to be back flushed with a syringe every other bagful.

Flow rate is poor
Everything about the filter kit is great except the flow rate. It started great and then slowed to a drip after about 1 gallon. With a group of 4 we had to boil water. The hollow fiber filter is the weak link. The return window is closed. I'll keep the kit and buy a gravity filter from some other manufacturer.

Broke on 3rd use.
The hose connection on the water bladder inexplicably broke my 3rd time using it. Use your money on a better product.
