Protocols: A Variety of Views: Power Exchange Books' Resource Series Paperback – October 1, 2008

This book does deliver what it promises: It's a series of essays from dominant and submissives of varying walls of life describing their own experiences with protocol. This is not a how-to guide. I thought several of the essays were well-written and useful. However, this book clearly suffers from a lack of careful editing. Half of the essays were so similar as to be completely redundant. One of the essays, from an anonymous author, sounded as if the writer was seriously mentally ill and described very dangerous behavior. The text was replete with spelling and grammar errors. I did like the book and I think it's a useful perspective for those trying to establish new protocols. But I'm still waiting for a really great protocol book to come along, this wasn't it.

This book was a joy to read. I learned a lot and was inspired to reflect on the what, how and why of protocols. More importantly I have my own ideas now on how to create and implement simple but mutually affirming protocols. These ideas have helped me shape a clearer vision for my partner and I to stay focused in a sustainable head space/home enviroment.

Completing the collection of a dear friend, I am always on the look out for books that will fill in the gaps, this one was highly recommended. It is not so much as a how to, as a how it has been done, and a book filled with suggestions and ideas. a worthy read for those in the BDSM community or lifestyle.

This is a book to have if you are negotiating and planning something to do with the reasoning of this. Just good learning in general.

This was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a variety of techniques, not a bunch of letters from people that have been in different situations. It could be insightful for the right person.

I am reading this book again as i am going to talk about it at a discussion night. It covers a lot of the basics and is a good book for those wanting to know more about the rules we all should be aware of.Wayne

If your in a M/s relationship or wanting one you need protocols this guide will help you make them and help you understand why, it's from multiple sources but the author brings it together well so it doesn't feel disjointed.

Provided greater insight to a world that is often only partially spoken of and with little commentary to help shed light on. I loved the opinions and commentary and will gladly read more books of its ilk
