Very happy with this foam even if my use case is atypical. I have a louvered, 18" sidelight window that lets in cold air and a ridiculous amount of noise from outside. I was planning to replace it, but decided to wait so that I can install a new door and side light of a different size.While I am waiting on that project, I decided to try this foam to keep the cold air and noise out and the warm air in. So far, so good. I cut it a little bit wider than I needed and squished it in. It's holding firm without any adhesives, etc. The charcoal color is perfect since I have it hidden behind a gray sheer curtain. So, no one can see my temporary hack.

I used this foam to sound dampen my entertainment center. My entertainment center contains a PlayStation 4 Pro, an Xbox One X, and a PlayStation 3, all of which is cooled with AC Infinity AIRPLATE T7, Quiet Cooling Fan System with Thermostat Control, for Home Theater AV Cabinets.Needless to say, there's a lot of fan noise in the cabinet. This foam has notably reduced the noise coming out of the setup with only a minimal increase in ambient heat. The foam is very easy to measure and cut to size. Even though I bought the 1" thick foam, scissors provided a very clean cut. The foam can also be compressed significantly and will expand readily back to its original size - very useful for packing the material into little nooks and crannies. The only "negative" I would note is that this foam does not come with an adhesive on one side as do some other sound dampening foams. It's not really that much of an issue - it adheres well enough using high temperature spray adhesive.Very much recommend.

Five stars because it does exactly as described. We purchased because of its size, also. Perfect for setting in window at night to block sound of neighbor’s noisy air conditioner.

I used the foam as the third layer of a 3 layer Jecklin disk. The foams high frequency diffusion character was excellent. Because it is the outside layer it also makes an excellent presentation.

Cheap piece of crap. Not meant for acoustic applications. Worth about 5 cents.

I'm no expert but this just looks like regular foam I could have picked up from Home Depot. And it performed equally poorly for external noise. I bought it for the windows in my bedroom because I have the joy of being forced to listen to the excessively loud obnoxious stressful cars that drive from 4 - 3 AM. These should be banned!! It did nothing for the neighbors leaf blower a block away, let alone these exorbitantly loud cars! Def don't recommend for this type of use.
