iPod classic bluetooth w/ Bose Revolve & Sonos speakers - easy, no latency, no skips, no static
Very seldom does "plug and play" work as seamlessly as promised . . . except this does! Using this to give an oldie but goodie iPod classic the ability to Bluetooth connect and play through a couple Bose Revolve and Sonos speakers. Seriously, this took less than 5 minutes to set up. Plug it into the iPod's headset jack, then plug it into an outlet. It came with about a 75% charge, but I wanted it to always be plugged into a power source since I plan on leaving it in place. Toggle the on button to on, then push the sync button on this transmitter and on the first speaker. Connected easily. Do the same with the second speaker. Connected just as easily. At this point, I paired the two Bose speakers with each other so they could play in either party or stereo mode. No matter which mode they're in, they play in sync with each other without lag, latency or static. So far, I've used this almost everyday since initial set up and there was never any issue with needing to re-pair or re-sync - - - all devices remembered each other (recognizing it as Avantree) and picked up just where they left off. It honestly took me more time dealing with the physical aspect of cord managing the charging cable (fishing the cable behind furniture so it's out of sight) than actual set up of the device. Comments: - note there is an actual on/off switch on the device. It's tiny and on the side of the transmitter, but that needs to be "on" in order to function. I don't know if it's necessary, but I also turn it off when I'm not using it just so it's not always actively sending out a signal. - happy surprise that there are also volume control buttons right along side the on/off switch. I don't need those in my situation, but if you're travelling or are using this as a portable transmitter, this is a handy bonus - it's amazingly teeny - - - about the size of a flash drive and smaller than an old school pack of gum - comes with a 2 prong headset jack, presumably for airplane use, but I think most airlines have gone to the single jack input as I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a double jack on a plane. - comes with a charging cable, but not a wall plug. - if you're taking this with you, it also comes with a compact case that everything fits into nicely

Ideal for flying with bluetooth headphones; a well thought out product
Why did I buy this product? Because I make international flights on a regular basis. For travel, noise canceling headphones are a must-have, but most are now bluetooth. Unfortunately, most cattle class seats have infotainment systems that only provide mini-jack outputs. Enter this device as the perfect solution! At least in my opinion. This device allows me to plug-in to the output jack on an aircraft without the inconvenience of wires. It has several domestic uses, specifically provided a bluetooth interface to older audio equipment, PC's that don't have bluetooth, and (some) tablets. Does it work? Yes, no reservations. Fully charged, the battery was only 50% drained at the end of a 10 hour flight to London from Phoenix, AZ. I used this device in conjunction with my iPad mini, the aircraft infotainment system and even my PC at home. Binding was fast and effortless. Recommend you read the instructions because although binding and unbinding is easy (and works) the unit itself has a minimum of controls and you need to know what you're doing! I really can't speak to quality or range, but at least up to around ten to fifteen feet it was working fine, and sound quality was excellent without drop-out or interference. Can I listen to music while the unit is attached to a charger? Yes you can. This was a worry for me, especially since I forgot to recharge before the return trip. So I attached to a USB-C power bank and absolutely no problem, throughout charging, the unit worked fine. BTW, many airlines seem to be banning the use of power banks on or onto their aircraft - just another nuisance to check on before you fly! Do I know how much power is left? Yes, there are 4 white LED's which tell you how much charge you've got on the device. The top-most illuminated LED flashes until the next level is reached or the unit is fully charged. Finally, can two people listen to the same audio? Yes, my wife and I watched a video on the plane, with both of us wearing Bose NC headphones in bluetooth mode. The unit provides two, simultaneous links so for me that was the final box ticked. Some widgets are hard to use, but this one is well thought out and easy.

Great Connections and easy Pairing!
This little adapter is a very good deal. I’ve been having difficulty connecting some of my older headphones and earphones (with older Bluetooth technology) directly to some of the newer CD players, Bluetooth equipment and speakers. And, once connected I would loose the connections when I walk a short distance away. This little adapter connected right away. It did the trick …and It found my old headphones on the first try! The sound in my headphones is rich, clear and as loud as I wanted … without any static or white noise. It has a long battery life AND you can connect two headsets. Plus, this adapter keeps the connections for longer distances than when I tried to do the direct equipment to headphone connections. I will be able to use my older headphone and earphones! This adapter is made for airplane and travel, but I will be using it for my home and yard work. I bought two by mistake and I am keeping both! This adapter is a good price and is worth every cent paid! The price is a fraction of the cost of new headphones.

A must have on our flights!!
I bought this item as well as the Twelve South Airfly Pro. I tested them at home before my international flight. I sent the Airfly back as this item was just as good, if not better, at a lower price point. I didn't notice any lag at all with this item (neither with Airfly to be honest). I detected very little background static, if any (less than the Airfly). Battery life was great... fully charged, I used maybe half of its power on an 8 hour flight (it went from 4 lights to 2 on the indicator). (Tip: Remember to turn it off after your flight. I forgot upon arrival to my destination and it was completely depleted when I checked it before my flight home). I bought two of these, one for me and one for my husband. Our only gripe is that it is a touch finicky when trying to connect to the our headphones (he has Bose over the ear, I have AirPods Pro 1 and 2 and connected both of them before flying). But we still loved them. I definitely recommend turning your bluetooth off on other devices (ie. your phone), as it does cause interference as the instructions state. Once we turned off our phones bluetooth during connection it wasn't too bad. Both my AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro2 connected just fine. And when one died during my flight I just took out the other pair and it connected to the transmitter. We both liked them very much and will definitely be using them going forward! SO much better than the freebies they give you!

Good to go with my hearing aids.
Bought this to interconnect airline entertainment with my (Phonak) hearing aids. After easy setup it worked great. I attempted to check/upgrade the firmware just for grins. Unable to connect with the downloaded upgrade app on my desktop, I contacted their helpdesk, and it was stated that I would get an email the following day. I did, and with their email the next morning, it was suggested that I use a data cable rather than the provided charging cable to connect with my computer. I did, and did an upgrade quickly and with no issues. I had hesitated to even check on the firmware, as the device worked fine right out of the box. It was not a big thing, even though the device did not have up to date firmware. Easy peasy!

Great device and new must have for travel
Worked a charm! Glad I read reviews and chose this money saving option vs the highly marketed "name brand" version. I had no issues pairing these with the Shokz Open Fit Pro's. I did not have to unpair the ear buds from my phone. I used these on a 14+ hour flight with zero issues. On the way home, I used them for 20 total hours of flight time on 1 charge. No lag, no audio issues. Would buy again. The range was pretty good. A couple of times, I headed to the restroom and forgot to pause my movie. I got in that little plane cube and was startled to realize I was still listening to the audio from my seat screen. So, good range with no interference. Was honestly surprised how many people are still using the free and terrible plane earbuds.

Loud radio interference hiss and sound lag
First of all, it is tiny! The Amazon photos make it look about twice larger than it is. Which is not enough plastic for what it costs, frankly. More importantly, it did connect at home to a pair of AirPods Pro 2 as intended by following the online instructions (which is a plus), and, technically, it could have been used for its main purpose on an upcoming flight to some degree of satisfaction. However, there is a very audible radio interference hiss, including Morse codes (!) picked up by the device, with the transmitter apparently seconding as a sensitive antenna (the interference volume would change while moving the dongle in space). It also picks up interference from the audio source itself (cassette player had more of it than, say, iPhone). It would be interesting to know how much of it will be on the plane, with hundreds of in-seat entertainment systems and cellphone in close proximity, and powerful plane radios too, but I am not up to the experiment. The transmitter's volume has to be lowered to at most 25% to minimize that interference hiss, which means the volume on the audio source must be maxed. But then the final volume on the AirPods ends up to be, probably, 40% of its maximum, and I am not sure it will be enough for the loud environment on the plane, even with ANC. Also, I checked it with a conversation video on YouTube, and the lag between the lip movements and the speech sounds was very significant - at least half a second, which can be very annoying while watching a movie. Overall, it is a return, and I am back to searching for a perfect airplane bluetooth dongle.

Works Well
works well for how cheap it is no audio sync issues connected to 2 JBL speakers (boombox 4 and flip 5) fine charges fast, used about 25% charge in 6 hours setup instructions were web-only which was a little annoying but they were laid out well and easy to follow

No problem with connection. Works as advertised
Bought it for a recent long airplane ride from Dubai to Canada. Was Flying on ITA Airways. Didn't need to use because ITA allows direct bluetooth connection, but I tested it on my laptop and it worked as stated. Only problem is trying to remember the directions to connect/pair since I don't use it very often.

Excellent Bluetooth adapter for flights and travel
I picked up the Avantree Relay mainly for use on flights, and it’s been very reliable so far. Setup is simple and quick, pairing easily with my Bluetooth headphones. Once connected, the audio has been stable with no noticeable dropouts or lag, even during long flights. Sound quality is very good for a Bluetooth adapter, and it works well for movies, TV shows, and general audio without sync issues. The adapter itself is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry in hand luggage or a pocket. Battery life has been more than sufficient for long journeys, and I’ve been able to use it across multiple flights without needing to recharge in between. Build quality feels solid, and the physical controls are easy to use without needing to look at the device. It also works well beyond flights — I’ve used it with gym equipment and other non‑Bluetooth audio sources with consistent results. Overall, this is a well‑designed, dependable Bluetooth adapter that does exactly what it’s meant to do. A great option if you want wireless headphones to work properly with airplane entertainment systems or other wired audio sources.
