AquaPix W1024-Y Waterproof Camera - Yellow (10 MP) 2.4-Inch TFT LCD

Bought this for recent trip to the Maldives. It was the first time I had used an underwater camera and I was worried it might leak and I wasn't sure what the quality of pictures would be like. I need not have worried - the camera was robust and leak proof and took really good photos. It is easy to use underwater and stays on standby for a long time so you're not constantly having to switch it on/off. It has a decent zoom which was more than adequate for snorkelling over reefs and I even used the movie function to film a shark and some stingrays and again the footage was very good. The pictures are easy to review on the camera and very easy to download onto my computer. The camera takes AA batteries which will last about an hour if it is on almost constant standby - I found this to be fine as I would simply change them after an hours snorkelling ready for my next excursion underwater. The battery compartment can be a little fiddly to access initially but after a couple of times of opening and shutting it you get the hang of it. I used it twice a day for a week and took hundreds of photos with it ( I bought a 32gb micro memory card to go with it) All in all a smashing little camera and well worth the price. (I would recommend buying a floating wrist-strap too as I found this kept my camera secure and would be very useful if you dropped the camera whilst swimming).

Overall this is a good camera that takes quite good photos. The main problem is that underwater it's really difficult to swap between still and video modes as you just can't see the screen well enough. If you're going on holiday somewhere out of the way make sure you take a good stock of spare batteries as they run out really quickly! I found it really difficult to open the battery compartment and finally resorted to looking it up online.

I read lots of reviews for this camera, the battery compartment is difficult to open the first time, but its the way it's designed to avoid water seepage. there's a certain way to open it just remember how you did it for next time!. The battery life was fine we had no issues on that front. Yes it is difficult to see images you are taking through the back of the camera, but the point and shoot method seemed to work. It took good quality pictures underwater, in fact some of the images where water is splashed, i.e. jumping in the water, the quality of the splash is pin sharp. The video function is a little pixelated but for the price we paid, I thought it did the job really well.

This camera arrived very speedy to say it was coming all the way from Germany so thats always a good thing. However it does say that this camera has video WITH sound, but after looking for speakers and actually trying the video it however dosnt NOT have sound, unless the sound somehow comes through when hooked up to a p.c or something. The photo quality isnt the best but i think it will do the job for a quick point and click camera while on the beach in Ibiza later this year as we will also be taking a profesional camera with us. Also havnt had the guts to try the waterproofing out yet but it seems a sturdy little thing and very light weight even with batterys in it. Over all i would say its a very cheap and easy camera to use just dont go expecting more for your money.

this is zero stars for me although it wouldnt let me. i bought this for my sons christmas to go to turkey with in june. we used the camera for the first week. u cant see the screen under water in the pool but my kids didnt seem to mind they just pointed and clicked. we got about 150 photos after a few days, very good clear photos although alot of legs and half faces, we still had some great shots. again no problem as we had a large memory card. this just added to the fun. next day in the pool the screen went dark and started fiiling with water!!!!!!!!!! camera leaked and totally ruined, on top of that it leaked onto the memory card so all the photos we did manage to get are gone. my son is gutted as are we as this was our first underwater camera and were expecting more. i would not recommend. on top of that amazon could not get in touch with the manufacturers. luckily amazon were very quick to refund although i would much prefer to get back our lost digital memories.

Poor quality

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on this - but I have to say I am absolutely delighted with this wee camara. Its a bit tricky to open the battery compartment but apart from that we have used it 14 days underwater in the pool and got some brilliantly sharp photos and the video is great too. Really can't fault it! The batteries last a few days too and that was me taking about 100 photos at a time. I couldnt see the back of the camera when taking the photos cos of the glare from the sun so its a case of point and shoot and take as many you you can to get the best shots, but there weren't many I had to delete. I didnt use the flash as it was so sunny the pool was well lit. I didn't use out of water only underwater. But Honestly don't read the negative reviews this is a fab camera for underwater photos.

I was a bit wary about buying this camera as i searched for 2 days for reviews and found none. The title says 10mp but you can actually set it to 3mp, 5mp, 10mp or 16mp, I've set mine at 16mp and this lets me take over 900 photos with a 4gb micro sd card. I thought this camera would be good for my photography course at university and it is great! it takes fantastic photographs and is quick and easy to use. The flash takes around 7seconds to load however but i havent needed to use in underwater as of yet. Fantastic little camera and great for the price, I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a cheap yet reliable little camera! The only thing however is it eats through the batteries, ive used a set of AAA duracell rechargeable batteries and they took about 30photos before dying, so definitely bring a spare set!

Comprata per il compleanno di mio nipote. Nonostante i suoi 6 anni la utilizza con molta semplicità, le foto sono molto belle. Consiglio di vederle su pc perché nel piccolo schermo della fotocamera non rendono al meglio

Naturalmente non ci si possono aspettare risultati eccezionali per definizione e profondità di campo, non c'è zoom analogico e regolazione manuale, ma se si acquista la macchina per avvicinare alla fotografia un bambino (fra i 6 e 12 anni) è quanto di meglio ci si possa aspettare. Le foto risultano comunque chiare, la macchina è effettivamente impermeabile (quindi può essere usata al mare o in piscina o in un giorno di pioggia), non ha zoom ottico, ma proprio per questo il case resta compatto ed abbastanza solido, c'è la possibilità di girare filmati (con audio) che sono comunque abbastanza chiari e fluidi. Forse è un po' lento il meccanismo per il settaggio delle opzioni e la definizione del monitor potrebbe essere migliore (soprattutto per le riprese sotto l'acqua), ma per il prezzo a cui viene offerta sono difetti che appaiono trascurabili.

Bonjour,appareil très "mignon" qui plaira sans aucun doute à ma petite fille mais je pense qu'il serait judicieux de bien mettre en relief le fait qu'il est vendu sans carte sd cela éviterait bien des soucis !!une personne qui offrira cet article sans l'avoir testé auparavant aura une mauvaise surprisedommage je suis un peu déçue, je pense que tout appareil doit être prêt à l'emploi !!!

La facture de l'appareil n'est pas AMAZON et le titulaire de la facture refuse de répondre aux questions techniques du produit facturé. Ce fournisseur même allemand est à éviter même si son produit est bon.

Ha sido un regalo para mi hija de 9 años, y tengo que decir que no esperaba tanto por el precio que tiene. Color muy bonito, resistente, pequeña y no pesa nada. Hace unas fotos bastante buenas y salen fotos muy divertidas. La niña esta súper contenta. Una pega las pilas duran poco. Envio rápido y sin problemas.
