Transducer did not read properly, only shows a read screen full of dots
Purchased transducer to replace the one I broke when I walked by it cleaning my boat and accidently broke the mounting bracket off. Tried to repair it but it would never read correctly since. When I received the new replacement transducer, and found the time to remove the old one and install this new one, took the boat to the lake and it would not read at all. I adjusted the positioning level of transducer, and tried again, but would only read a screen full of red dots. Thought maybe I must have a kink in the line, so I retraced the routing to find everything good. I tried 2 more separate trips to the lake to test, and still only read a red screen. I tried contacting Lowrance but was on hold for over 45 minutes and could not wait any longer. So i decided I would try and return for a replacement, but learned my return date had expired. I purchased end of March and my return date was expired end of April. Basically 30 day return policy. I guess I should wait until retired and have nothing to do but play with electronics to see why they dont work when purchased, and have the luxury of returning them back within the 30 day policy, since I would be retired and not have anything else in life to distract me from doing this. This is an example of our world's great customer service these days. Guess I will have to see if the other vendor lines have any better customer services before purchasing their products. So far, Lowrance has not held up now on 2 separate issues with the Lowrance Triple Shot Depth Finder w/ Transom pkg I purchased. The first issue was when receiving the pkg from day one, it was missing a corner bracket on the depth finder. After 3 days of sitting on hold, finally spoke to a representative that apologized and verified they will corrct the issue and send me the missing piece. That was 1 1/2 yrs ago. I guess our mal service is really getting bad these days. Not impressed with Lowrances support on products produced.
