Perfect for a travel toiletry kit.I first stumbled across twist razors as a specialty ad in 2002. When I traveled a lot for work and was rough on my gear, I'd often find the cheap disposable razors I'd packed in my jump bag broken at the neck, making shaving...unpleasant.This type of razor folds down into the handle and twists up and down like a lipstick. Which means nothing to torque or break off in your ditty bag. Perfect for travel bag, jump bag, bugout bag, or any other kit where you need the ability to shave "in the field" without having to worry about some rough handling.This product is the latest iteration of the twist razor. A compact, lightweight option for those of us who don't always have the luxury of proper accomodations but still have to look reasonably professional.These units take the relatively inexpensive Trac II slide-on type of razor blade refill, making it cost effective long term, as well. (Update 4/13/18 -- You can now buy Trac II compatible blades which fit this razor in bulk here on Amazon, just FYI)No, I'm not a paid advertiser. I just love these things and have used them a lot over the years. It's frustrating because trying to find a steady resource of them is difficult as many of the companies who made them would have them for a little while and discontinue them. This is a neat and well-functioning travel razor that saves a lot of space in the wet pack. The included blades are diabolical, but inspired by the review above I went to Boots to get replacements. That took some detective work as the myriad of blades on offer never show you the back of the blades nor do they have adequate descriptions of their fitting type. But it turns out that Boots own "Twin Blade System" fits like a glove, and are a bargain at £3.29 for 10. So this razor is cheap to buy and cheap to refill and works like a charm: a no-brainer really!

..........but......despite the reviews, decided to go ahead and buy this product. i found that this product doesn't always extend fully, although i do like the fact that its quite nifty and compact. haven't found the replacement blades yet, as one reviewer described trying to find the right ones in boots, for me, its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So for this reason, wouldn't recommend to a friend.

A good gimmick but the shave leaves a lot to be desired

Perhaps not the most robust item I have ever purchased, but it is very well designed and very much fit for purpose; once you replace the awful blades the razor comes with! The replacement blades are cheap and can be bought in Tesco, for instance. I did not reduce any stars for this, because the razor alone is worth the price. I will probably buy another as back up. Highly recommended.
