As I use this app, I've found it to be a valuable tool for both quick checks and in-depth diagnostics. The Graphic User Interface The features are clean intuitive that is easy to navigate and explore, after opening the app you are greeted with recent Reports, History and Coverage List. Quick access to System Diagnostics, Maintenance Functions and obd2 functions. The Layout is easy for both noobies and professionals to find what they are looking for quickly. The Bluetooth connectivity is seamless and the process is straightforward, and the connection is stable through the diagnoses process allowing the user to move around the vehicle without loss of connection while waiting for scan to finish. The app provides a comprehensive set of diagnostic tools as it can read and clear trouble codes, display live data and perform freeze frame analysis and check i/m readiness. Advance functions such as o2 sensor testing and onboard monitoring are also supported. The real-time data display resembles live data logging like open source tuning software. KingBolen is not only tailored to one specific vehicle as it covers a wide variety making it a technicians or individuals perfect tool for diagnostics if working on multiple different type of vehicles. Perfect for the mobile tech or the DIY weekend mechanic. Many dongles out there plug directly into the DLC on the vehicle which may not fit depending on interior trim. The Ediag has an extension which puts the module away from the connector. This makes it far easier to plug in on any vehicle. 3 status LED's show the condition of communication. This is a full scan tool, not just a code reader. It enables live data on all modules (ABS, SRS, GEM, etc) and bi-directional control capability. Pic is showing a 2000 Expedition, along with data pids and 02 sensor graphing. I recommend spending the time going through the set up instructions. It may seem at first there are many models missing. However, once you do your first diagnostic scan (I chose EOBD on a 2002 dodge ram) it will open up the entire main list of vehicle makes. Each make as you choose, will have to be initially down loaded prior to scanning. After that, you will only have to update it as they become available. This makes it easier as you only have to download the vehicle brands you work on. Comes in a hard case. Small enough to keep in the glove box, or a corner in the tool box. This little thing is a amazing for the price. Heck it's amazing for more than it's price. Has tons of features. Haven't had any issues with anything I've tried to do with it. I found this while looking for a budget bidirectional scan tool with multiple reset and service functions. This one checked off all my needs and then some. I wasn't sure if I wanted a Bluetooth scan tool because the other ones I've had were lacking in areas and sometimes connections were touchy. This one linked up easily and as soon as I plug it into a port it downloads the vin and the data files it needs for the car. So much data at your finger tips with this along with functions only available on units twice this price. If you want a feature rich scan tool that doesn't break the bank this is the one for you. The only thing I can say I wish was better is the app. The app does take a little bit of getting used to. But once you play with it some it becomes easy to navigate.

Excellent product combining the best of a high end unit with a small foot print for your phone but can optionally work with any tablet. It’s the best unit I have ever had. It’s not without issues, but it’s probably one of the most affordable small units with the greatest features. Like many, I am a weekend mechanic on my own vehicles and device provided me all the advanced features I needed when I redid my valve body for my transmission and needed the ReLearn function, which worked effortlessly. It has many advanced diagnostic features only found on units costing far more. If this is you, then this device is the one to buy. Drawbacks: after 1 year you need to pay for the software, most advanced units are like this. Second the software does not automatically recognize my dodge grand caravan, I used the dodge maker & it works but it pulls up the Chrysler model that is comparable as Chrysler, and Dodge rebranded the same vehicle. The user interface is good but could be improved as you need to dig into the layers of system information to find your exact needed area, once you use it enough it’s no big deal but for the novice it may be overwhelming. It has no instructions on how to use the software ui, so watch videos on YouTube to learn. Excellent tool abd value.
