This is really nice. It seems solid and the seal is tight. It looked so nice. The color was rich and the engravings looked perfect. I didn’t notice in smell at all.

I love it! Workmanship looks incredible, engraving is just as I requested. This would be a beautiful.display piece even if it didn't serve a function of aging beverages (I intend to use it to ferment pepper mash for hot sauce). I followed the directions to make the barrel watertight, and after leaking a few drops, it sealed up nicely. This would make a perfect wedding, birthday, fathers day or anniversary gift, and would look very nice on display in any kitchen, man cave or family room... Not only that, but it is totally functional for aging any number of beverages... I also wanted to point out shipping was lightening fast... I recieved mine in two days. I am very impressed so far, and immediately sent the link for one of these to several of my family members and friends!

Bought this as a aging tool for a batch of wine my husband was especially proud of brewing. We thought aging it in the oak barrel would really enhance the flavor. It did. Added a depth it did not have before aging. Buttttt Next time we may try the pieces of wood you can add instead of barrel aging. 💔💔💔It's me. It's not you. 💔💔💔 This product is beautiful. I was very excited to put this barrel to use. I'd been reading about aging your own whisky and was eager to try it out. After receiving the (first) barrel, a 5-liter version, I immediately began 'prepping' it, strictly following the provided directions, which is pretty much just keeping it filled with water for 2-5 days. Unfortunately, the barrel continued to lose an ounce or more of water per *day*. This loss never decreased and, at that rate, I would lose about one quart of spirit per month. Now, there is a normal, expected amount of evaporation (the "angels' share") but a quart-per-month loss is far beyond what is normal. I contacted the seller and they offered to ship me some barrel wax. I accepted and applied the wax around the seams but this did nothing to stem the loss. When I let the seller know, they sent me another barrel and I again prepared the new barrel according to the instructions. After keeping the barrel filled with water for a few weeks, this second one continued to lose liquid at the same rate: about an ounce per day. All of this happened over the course of several weeks, between the shipping times and the barrel preparation and the communication with the seller. Once I determined that the second barrel was also leaking, I let the seller know and asked for a refund, offering to send both barrels back so they could see for themselves the leaking problem. I never heard a word, and still haven't, after giving them a month to respond. So I have 2 useless barrels and am out over $100. I also have to question whether I want to take a chance with another seller. I really wanted (*want*) to try and age my own whisky but at this point, is it worth the risk of dealing with another unethical seller? I don't know.

I bought this as part of an anniversary gift for my Hubby. He loved it. After the prep process it had No leaks. The one i bought holds 3 bottles. He gets constant compliments on it when we have get togethers.

I got the one liter but it's wayyyy smaller than I expected. Too small to use and looks like poor craftsmanship with the gluing of the spout/handle/holder. There's wood chips in the barrel. We got it for our tattoo shop but now it will end up on a shelf as just a decoration. We are going to order a glass decanter now. The barrel it's self is cute though and well made, but thought it would be better made for the price.

I really loved the details on the barrel. My intention when I bought was just for decoration , but it came with instructions on how you can prepare the wood to use it as an aging liquor barrel. The only thing is that as I bought the 1 liter barrel the letters at the bottom are not appreciated. I will recommend getting 2 liters and up.
