Kudos to author - one of few books on the topic
This is a great description of issues facing the dyspraxic learner and how to overcome them. Despite how common the issue is (especially for boys) it is an overlooked area. We have shared the book with teachers who did not know about it and it has helped in school.

After being previously disappointed with several other books on dyspraxia, this is the most comprehensive explanation of dyspraxic issues as I have been able to find. Not only did it help me (as a graduate adult with dyspraxia) consider new and helpful learning techniques, I could also relate the information regarding social, emotional and physical effects to my every day living experience. In addition to offering these useful practical techniques, I found it a very encouraging, supportive and sympathetically written book. Her knowledge of the condition is outstanding and she suggests many further avenues of possible exploration for the future. I would highly recommend this book to tutors, parents and those who have dyspraxia. I am sure that it is a book that I will re-read many times and offer to my friends and family if they ask questions about the condition. It answered many questions for me and I felt quite an emotional sigh of relief whilst reading the book, knowing that somebody did understand what it means to live and and learn as a dyspraxic, and had taken the time to write it down for others to read and understand. Thank you Alison Patrick.

Great ideas from someone with a lot of experience but badly written - sort of like a kitchen conversation with an aunt who has good advice to tell you.

I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia at school. I had it narrowed down to handwriting and memory. Having gone to college as an adult (37) and have really struggled I searched more about Dyspraxia with my wife and realised the difficulties I was having were down to Dyspraxia. I decided to buy this book. I now understand myself so much better. There are so many things that I thought were down to personality that are actually due to my Dyspraxia. I never thought that me quite enjoying eating burnt foods could in any way be linked to my Dyspraxia. I would love everyone who has Dyspraxia to read it. I feel like I have strategies now to deal with so many of the issues that I didn't realise related to Dyspraxia. Thank you so much for writing this book Alison Patrick. I finally understand Dyspraxia! If it was possible to give more than 5*s I would.
