James Jean: Memu: 100 Postcards Card Book – February 25, 2014

So, taste is subjective. That being said, these run the gamut from fanciful to creepily surreal - I love each and every one. I am thrilled when I can use some of these for postcrossing - mind you, these are not "normal" art cards. These are VERY outside the box. I can most definitely not send most of these to random strangers overseas. Totally not for everybody. However, for the select few, these are perfect. Great card stock, a WIDE variety of images (I've included some not all), and the better surprise was that these are truly a box of a hundred. Some collections market a hundred different cards but instead it's 50 in duplicates of 2. Not so with this. I've already framed a few just for myself - the ones I couldn't part with, ha.

In my stairwell is an art collection full of postcards and 2D souvenirs I've gotten on my travels, such as fancy business cards that remind me of the more luxurious moments of my life. What gives my apartment character is the art that graces its walls, and I am thankful to have the work of the talented artist James Jean so easily accessible and affordable. My guests will sometimes just stand and stare at the walls, and even though I see this art every day on my walk up to my bedroom, I always stop to appreciate the masterpieces of James' mind.The postcards come in a nice box wrapped in a fabric reminiscent of old books, adorned with a red silk ribbon and with an interior also decorated by the talented James.When you open the box there are 100 beautiful postcards, most are different than the other in style, color, and theme, with examples of the drawings from his sketchbook to his more polished computer generated work.The postcards themselves are made of a thick cardstock and the quality of the prints are magnificent; the colors are vibrant, the lines sharp with a dreamy romanticism emanating from each of the cards.I collect postcards, and this set is my favorite due to its vibrancy and variety. I am proud to display it so openly in my home.

Whoever said buy two sets wasn't wrong. There's no way I'm sending any of these as postcards. Instead, I'm sending a box to everyone who would appreciate them. I laid out every one of them on my dining room table and spent 3 days just looking at them. I mean, how to you describe art and how it makes you feel? You don't, because if you try, you sound like a douche. I found these awesome and so I purchased a book that has 12 removable prints, and I super can't wait for it to get here!!

amazing collection of art, especially for a new-comer to James Jean.You should buy two sets, one to send to your friends that you hate less, and one to keep for various admiration purposes.

I absolutely adore these postcards. I placed them above my desk for inspiration and on a folding door in my apartment. I love looking at them everyday and they add so much character to the space.

I've been contemplating purchasing this forever, finally decided to treat myself, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Beautiful packaging which could be displayed on a bookshelf as well. The cards are vivid and include some of his best pieces of work (in my opinion). Perfect for fans of James Jean!

Weird but cool

This little collection has tons and tons of not as famous works by the artist along with a few of his best and most well-known. Very high quality in both the lovely little box and the prints. If You love James Jean this is a must have collection.

Not just beautiful Art, but beautiful present aswell. The only stepback is that many of James Jean pieces are really huge and they get really tiny shrinked to the postcard. Of course, it's a little postcard, but I would say this is a problem of the choice of some pictures, not a problem of the format. Anyways, buy it, it's worth every penny :-)Will refresh when I get XOXO

These postcards feature James Jean's artwork and so I love them. The quality of the postcards (printing and paper) is not as high as his last postcard book - this time the paper is a bit glossy, thin card stock whereas on the last book was a nice matte finish, thick stock with a rounded edge. However- this pack contains 100 prints and is beautiful for mailing, framing or just collecting inspiration.
