Simple pole for vent windows or shades.
This is a well made, but light weight, and will allow you to reach switches or controls over your head, like for louvers above a fixed window. It's plenty sturdy for most 'switch' work, though I found it weighs just shy of the amount it takes to trigger the bat handle switch I'm trying to access from below, so wont work for that purpurse, but I have several other uses for it.NO complaints about it - it's height adjustable, has a variety of hook types at the business end (I had to make up my own), and is an attractive stainless/chrome appearance, so shouldn't rust over time, either.

Short person approved
I literally bought these for the blinds in my bathroom and kitchen. I’m too short to fully reach over the counters to get the blinds and pull the curtains shut. This is a game changer - I’m no longer climbing counter or asking my husband to close blinds. I love this thing.

Bulkier than I expected but it will probably last longer than a cheapo
It's larger than expected and a bit bulkier with the clip that holds it after you extend it. It can't push the cordless blind cell shade all the way up behind a valance because the top of it, the metal part hits the valance before the blind gets up behind the valance. It was possible to put the end through the little hole in the blind clear handle after much effort to pull it down within reach but a grabber may have been quicker. I'm a little leary of scratching the metal on the cellular shades too. It is nice for use with hangers or reaching stuff under sofas. Not using it for what I intended it for other than pulling drapes across left to right across a rod but it serves other purposes.

Up to the Task!
The main level of our home has 10 ft. ceilings. Many of the windows are floor to ceiling to show off the beauty of our surrounding landscape of mountains and woods. The large windows work great during the day, but we want privacy after dark so needed to install curtains. The curtain rod is almost 10 ft. above the floor, making opening and closing the curtains challenging for my husband and me without a step ladder.I saw this tension draw rod and decided to give it a try. It has a sturdy construction and may be heavy for someone with arthritis, etc. but otherwise is a great tool. It opens and closes the curtains with ease. It has many other uses, as well! The rod can straighten high hanging pictures that get off-kilter, can aid in stringing Christmas lights, can help pull an overhead box closer to you, can get a dog or cat toy from under a sofa or hutch, and more! I didn't realize how much I needed this tool until I started trying it out around the house!

Really solid, not cheaply made!
Full admission, my reason for ordering, which had absolutely nothing to do with blinds, shades, or skylights, was aborted even before I received this draw rod, so for now, I'm just using it as a means to reach/grab things that are out of arm's length. The metal is strong enough to lift moderately heavy things (maybe under 5-10 lbs?); however, I thought to test on my backpack with heavy textbooks inside, then stopped when I could see I was going to break it where the aluminum tubes are joined (under the plastic tightening piece). It's not meant for lifting a lot of weight anyway, but I was curious.I hope this review is helpful! I certainly am glad I ordered this!Highly recommended!

Different design, works well.
I use this as a curtain rod during the winter to separate the entryway from living room, that way every time the front door gets open we don’t freeze or lose any heat. Adjustable and tough enough. Mojo.

Lightweight and easy to use
We ordered this item to use with 96" long patio pocket tab drapes that were difficult to slide by pulling the fabric. It works well to catch the curtain back tab and slide the curtain open or closed without excessive tugging and pulling as we were doing before with just our hands. Happy with the product!

Very useful for holiday decorating.
I decorated a large outdoor tree for Christmas & this pole worked well to adjust the string lights that were out of reach. The pole is lightweight & extends by twisting & sliding out from the center. The hooked end makes it easy to pull, lift, & push wires. Using this pole was definitely more convenient than climbing up & down a ladder. I’ll continue to use this for various tasks around my house. This pole worked out great.
